Over the last few months I have been reading many threads about building boards. There have been so many invaluable tips and techniques that I have decided to build a mark two. While I do it, I thought it would be good to let you know of my progress in the form of an online diary of events. That way others who are also building or thinking of doing so can hopefully use what I have picked up from various threads. Although I have decided upon my design and started building, I am still interested in any way I can improve things as I go. Feel free to give advice or otherwise. CR

Hey folks, just looking at the wind forecast and it seems it'll be easterlies most of the week - cross-off at Ainsdale. Just wondering where people generally go in these conditions - close by that is. As far as I can tell the closest place would be all the way to the Eastern side of Anglesey....

Following on from Mick's comments about the intro/action and story of a vid I thought I'd start a separate thread to see what people want from a kitesurf video. I totally agree with not having a long intro, which normally has little to actually to do with the video. On the other hand if it were purely just straight into action and nothing else that would also get a bit boring too? So ultimately a video should tell a story and feature loads of action? But I also feel it should give an idea of the area where it's shot. My problem is always keeping the video short enough, I always struggle to be ruthless when choosing the clips, especially from the holiday trips …

Got my new 10m Bandit Dos over the weekend and it is the mutts! Apparently they are with retailers now, so maybe worth a look if you are in the process of thinking about or buying your next ride. Great set up, pulls like a train and fantastic graphics.

From July 1st Sefton council will be issuing permits for kite surfing at Ainsdale. To obtain a permit you must be a member of the Ainsdale on Sea Kite surf club and hold current BKSA insurance. You will also need to obtain a club rashie and wear it at all times on the water, as this will be used to indicate to the Rangers that you are a bona fide member of the club. Permits will be free this year and the costs of the vest are yet to be confirmed. Helmets will also be compulsory

So my son, Zachary can join me kiteboarding this summer, I am building him a kiteboard. I will be posting up the progress as I go, worts and all. You will see all my blunders and hopefully the triumphs as well. Comments and suggestions from you are welcome. I have made a kiteboard once before, a solid plank of pine wood, worked fine but some faults: too narrow to fit standard foot straps, the home made foot straps did not lock in my feet well enough. But apart from that it worked well. So hopefully the next attempt will work and work even better. After a trip to Bunnings: So here are the screen grabs from my on going power point presentation: …

So anyway…a couple of months ago I posted on here about a long standing member of the forum who had sold me a '2010' North Vegas . Upon receipt it turned out to be a 2008 Vegas and it was riddled with small repairs of which no mention had been made. I initially gave up counting the repairs and reinforcements at 17 but when I went back to it a week or so later the count stopped at 27. So you would think asking for a refund on such an item would be a reasonable, fully justified request and expected response. But no. The chap initially never replied to my texts or picked up the phone and it was only when I mentioned it on here and a kindly lynch mob were forming that he b…

This won't be for everyone I know so I apologise But I'm Interested to know; How long have you been Riding? What is your level of riding? Do you set your self goals to achieve in a season, month, week?? How well do you progress? Are you happy with your progression? I want this to be aimed at all levels. Even if you have been here from the beginning. How fast or slow was your progression at the start? Have you reached a stale mate? How do you stay motivated (especially in the winter) Are you still setting yourself targets? Are you still learning? You might not give a shit. Lets hear it!

The signs are now up and even the black and white flag was flying to mark the northern point of the kite zone yesterday. Despite this I counted 7 kiters at one point in the no fly zone-some even went north of the beach entrance. There is now a procedure in place with Sefton to deal with folks who don't tow the line.Unless you really want to be the example to others I'd suggest you stay well away from the northern limit of the kite zone....or you risk a letter dropping through your letter box from the council. Remember they can see you from the ADC tower , so just because no one is on the shore line doesn't mean you can do what you want....... A

I used to take the mikey out of everyone who had a bow kite, particularly warroo`s. I called them beginner kites and I always asked where do you put the L plate! But after purchasing a 7m 2007 Warroo, I take it all back! It is a beautiful kite! I was flying it in 60 mph last Friday then in 30mph on the Saturday and then about 25mph on the Sunday. I loved every second of it!!! I found it very much like my Vegas 2006, in the way it handled and looped and also its unhooked capability! However I do think it is a high wind kite as I am gonna stick with a new vegas 2007 12m. I`ve even ordered a 5m Warro for those twice a year MEGA DAYS! Im that impresed! Also the bar is excella…
