GTA4 Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 At Stargate yesterday PM. Thanks to Kangaroo for his time. Pretty genuine guy. Rob seems to be getting on well with his tricks. Weather was crap, and wind and waves just kept blowing me straight back to shore. Had a think over a curry and wine last night. Think I know how to nail this now, the edge n stuff. Going to set up at Stargate later , but walk up the Beach to St Annes way and start all the way back to Stargate . Was completely knacked by the time Kangaroo helped out, but what he said seems to have sunk in. I think this is getting sad, I woke up thinking about this morning. Quote
foggyblackpool Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 tell me about it mate, when im not sleeping im thinking about how to hold an edge! Quote

kangaroo Posted August 28, 2009 Author Report Posted August 28, 2009 5 m powered up on twintip - some lad called hadlow was struggling at times some spectatcular wipe outs in the pros - very tough conditions - mental winds with a bit of flat chop and big waves 1. boulding 2 light 3 barrett i stand to be corrected on results the venue is excellent beach wise and parking isnt as bad as some had feared well done ali - it was like the boxer getting knocked down in the first to come back and go 12 rounds and lose on points - superb day - i spent 2 hrs practicing for the freestyle on my surfboard Quote
benbaron Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Missed the pros - stupid day to hold it - but had an excellent 7m session last night till the sun went down. Had a beer in the club looking for familiar faces but none to be seen. Gotta be said its getting colder already, i was fooking freezin when I came off. Mart - how big would you say the waves were?? some scary ones that i hit! how the hell do you get over em!!! Quote
benbaron Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 how come there was only like 5 guys out??? perfect conditions as well? Quote
kangaroo Posted August 30, 2009 Author Report Posted August 30, 2009 ben the course racers struggled to see the huge inflatable bouys that stand 6feet high in the water - it was big and messy - i have to weave around or run away when it gets that size - its fun though..... i went out back a fair distance once but i ride leashless and if i lose my board i aint going to find - if i drop my kite and it gets trashed out back it makes you feel very very small - its a beautiful environment when the sea boils.... re the bksa event to every single individual in what ever capacity thank you and take great pride in your efforts to all supporters free riders competitors and of course the bksa blcc and blackpool council kitesurfing was the winner - how lucky we are to share the love mart Quote

foggyblackpool Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 mx5 pat, going up for sale very soon as ive missed so many sessions because my dad hasnt been able to go in his car and my gear wont fit in my car,im after a corrado or maybe a t4. Quote
carltb Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 mx5 = kites in boot, board on passenger seat. Quote
gravyboat Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 mx5 = kites in boot, board on passenger seat. You out tomorrow mate, I might if I can get off work Quote
foggyblackpool Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 mx5 = kites in boot, board on passenger seat. Weve given it a go carl and it really doesnt work out,if i needed one kite and a small board itd be doable but one kite fits in the boot without pump, bar just about squeezes in. Then my board fits in aslong as i take the roof off when putting it in and taking it out but the pump, harness, wetsuit etc are a real struggle to fit in around it/on the back shelf. If i want to take both kites though theres no chance so id have to know i was going to need either the 8.5 or 10.5 on the day. Anyway hopefully ill have a corrado soon which has 2 back seats big enough for a kite in each and a board across the front then all the accesories or another kite or 2 in the boot, shoulda seen the guys face when we went to test drive and spent most of it working out how much gear we could pack in it! Quote
foggyblackpool Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Oh and ps.hows sunday looking for everyone?Ill be back on the water by then! Quote
carltb Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 ive got an mx5 and if you take the spare wheel out you can get 2 kites in the boot. i take it you've got the hardtop on. why not just for a day use the soft top and just unzip the back window to get you board in and also frees up the back shelf for bits and bats.
