I'm newer to traction kiting and have put a lot of hours in this year during the fairer months in a buggy and am totally hooked. I live in snow country and plan to snow kite a lot this winter. One thing I've been reading about (and fear for myself) is the inevitability or running over my lines with my ski edges and cutting them. I plan to use Flysurfer Peak 2s for my engine. Peak 2s of course have their "4/5" line set up or whatever you'd call it with the 5th safety line connecting up with one of the back lines part way up the line set. So... a custom line set. For those experienced Snowkiters out there, do you carry a replacement line set with you because life happ…

Interesting kites that look designed for Snow Kiting, in some shots they have some unique way of folding the wingtips in. More Info: http://www.paraskiflex.com Thanks soliver for identifying the kites in another thread ( http://www.extremekites.com.au/topic/15303-single-skin-tow-along/ ).

I have no idea what sort of kite this is, however it has a rigid leading edge similar to a C-Quad. The bar however is FREAKIN' HUGE!

Two Spanish explorers, Paco and Jesus, are currently training in Norway for the trip. The two explorers will try to reach Siorapaluk, the last village in the world. They be the first to cross the Greenland Ice Cap from south to north. And they plan to dive under the ice too. Of course, there are kites involved and Steffen has been working with them to develop some safety systems that can be used one handed by one of the explorers who is disabled. http://www.soroche.es/#firstblockinfo

I am looking for advice for a friend who lives in Canada and since I have never done any snowkiting, I thought I better ask for some advice, before he ends up with a mouthful of snow or worse. He is getting on a bit and has never done any kiting before. Bearing this in mind, what size, type of kite should I recommend to him? Also what depth of snow would he be able to snowkite in? he said one place he is looking at had around 18 inches of snow, would he be able to kite in snow that deep? Any advice so I can help him make an informed purchase and to have fun would be appreciated.

just got back from the beach and my first fly of the 13.5m peter lynn leopard and ive got to say the kite has impressed me. the wind was pretty much none existent topping out at about 5mph but I even managed to get some air in the buggy.!! by comparison, I brought my 18m charger and attempted to fly that. to start with it was nearly impossible to get the charger inflated but once I did get it flying, all I could do was very slowly cruise the beach. on the other hand, the leopard got straight into the air and was fully inflated within seconds and once I managed to get my technique sorted, I was getting some small sidewinder airs. I cant wait to fly it in 10mph winds to see…
