Hi

I am about to move to Perth with my Job from the UK in the next few weeks. I was just about to start some kite lessons as I want to start Kite Buggying - I would like to do all of this in Perth now, I have my own Kite but as the weather here has been that bad it is still in it's wrapper.

Does anyone have any ideas where I could get started

Thanks - Jeni

One of the sales reps at work was in Derby last week...... it's about 1700 km from Perth ! ... but you are still way inside the WA. He spotted 4 blowcarters and 2 kite buggiers playing on one of the beaches out of town.

We have a big park by the name of Langely on the foreshore of the river, right in the city.

The winds are often perfect and the view is pretty special too.

I get in there as often as I can, there are a few beaches around that are ok and some really good ones further afield.

WA has some of the best salt lakes around if your up for the travel, though there are a few good ones close to town also.

Just post here when your settled in and ready to go.

I live in Rockingham, originally from the UK - I fly an Ozone Flow 5m and am also interested in getting into buggying.

I took the kite to Lake Walyungup on Sunday

http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&sour ... p&t=h&z=14

have seen a guy down there with a buggy a couple of weeks ago, thats what makes me think I need one! I would be interested in meeting up with fellow land based kiters - and would love to try a buggy.

Hey Gum Nuts :good: Welcome to XK mate.

You wanna chase up Chook (Forum member) .... he is over your way though I believe he's still a fair way from Perth but over there ... 500 km's nothing right :derisive:

Get your post count up to 5 and you will be able to send him a private message.

You will sure be blessed with good winds on the western side of our island ... very envied here in the east!

Yeh too right!!! Only 760kms from Perth.

I've yet to buggy with anyone else.

Pure white beaches that squeak under foot and huge dune systems with great SE winds from Oct to easter.

I spent the day at Hellfire bay (Prettiest beach around Esperance) flying my Revolution 1.5.

I was supposed to be supervising a reward picnic for the Ag college.

22 students and 3 teachers had a go on the kite and it only ended up in the drink 3 times.

If your ever down this way look me up or I'll be really pissed off. :D

Hi Guys,

I'm new here on the forum.

Not trying to take over the thread but a quick question.

What is the deal with Lake Walyungup?

Do you need to join a club to get access?

I have a 3.5M Ozone IMP and built a buggy.

Just hanging out for some good wind to get a desent Run.

I'm up around Midland BTW!

Hey Tinman .... welcome to XK.

I can't help you with your questions other than I doubt you will need to join a club to gain access ... but don't quote me there. Got any photos of your home grown ?

Hi,

No worries.

Yep right here.

It does weigh a bit but won't bend. lol.

photo-1.jpg

I used wheelbarrow wheels. Fitted new bearings.

Had a seat laying around at work and got a guy at work to weld it up!

It comes apart at the front of the V and the back axel comes off.

The wheel stubs are aluminioum and come out with a quick release pin.

Packs in the back of a car nicely!

Cheers

Hey NICE!!! Great choice of colour too.

If you ever get to do a road trip, check my playground out.

All the beach and dune scenes are where I buggy. Wylie bay, Esperance WA.
