marruc Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 Hi all, Very new here and my english is kinda shitty but love this forum so i registered. I have had a home made buggy for years. After that I tried Blokarting for 3 years and last month I sold all of my Blokart stuff to buy a new kite buggy. Bought a PL XR+ and I received it last monday. I made some small modifications and yesterday I had my first buggy-ride since years. Man, now i realise how much i've missed this!! I'll try to post some pics Have now idea if this will work... Happy winds from Holland! Quote
jhn.holgate Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 Once you've pressed the 'img' button at the top of the 'post a reply' box, you need to insert the 'direct link' code from Image Shack...(it's under 'links to share this image') (I've fixed it up) Welcome back to kite buggying!! ps: love the 'remove before flight' tag although perhaps you shouldnt........ marruc Posted July 12, 2013 Author Report Posted July 12, 2013 Thanks! It looks like the photos are there. Quote
andy666 Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 Nice buggy. From the look of the seat belt and curved foot pegs, I'm guessing that you a freestyle rider? Quote
Clive Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Nice buggy, I see you've ridden it already, what kind of kites are you flying, and you are from .....Victoria....? Quote
marruc Posted July 13, 2013 Author Report Posted July 13, 2013 Ehmmmm what do you call it when you race AND do some freestyle..? Lets say a freestyleracer..(?) Not into competitions but live in Amsterdam the Netherlands so its close to the beach. Since I sold all my stuff a couple of years ago to get myself a Blokart (shame shame) there are only 3 Radsails left. I am searching the internet, reviews and youtube to figure out what kite I will buy first. So far I am pretty sure i'll buy a Flexifoil Blade V but still not sure about what racing kite... The footpegs and belt are home made and I have ordered a 1.40m rear axe last week, hope this will arrive coming monday. Cheers, M (pfffff, if my english looks like Japanese just let me know and i'll go back to school...) Quote
Chook Posted July 14, 2013 Report Posted July 14, 2013 Welcome. A very nice buggy there. Great to hear what is happening from the other side of the equator. Your English is just perfect.......... You could start giving "wolfie " lessons. Quote
Tiger37 Posted July 14, 2013 Report Posted July 14, 2013 Don't worry about your English - you have no problem. Nice buggy and welcome. What seat is it that you have on your buggy? Quote
marruc Posted July 14, 2013 Author Report Posted July 14, 2013 Thanks! The seat is a standard PL seat with a little higher backrest. Its an insert they use in a canoe, works fine. Today i've mounted a GPS on the buggy. Cant wait to set my own speed records allthough thats simple because i just have to drive over 20km/h... Quote
Nocando Posted July 15, 2013 Report Posted July 15, 2013 marruc there are a few international kite sites that have good for sale sections. www.kitecrowd.com English site www.powerkiteforum.com American Quote
fodendeyo Posted July 19, 2013 Report Posted July 19, 2013 Hi Murrac. Nice looking buggy. Wondering if you bought it new and are those tires standard with that buggy? If not did your order them and do they have a name? They look wider than standard and I am looking for tyres like that. Thanks Quote
igeighty Posted July 19, 2013 Report Posted July 19, 2013 Hi Marruc. I have a comp xr also, however it is an older model. And i really love it. I also just recently came back to buggying. between 93 and 98 i used to have a bunch of different kites. but i gave them away or sold them to move to the city. Last year browsing through some old photos, my wife said lets go buy another setup. The Next day off we drove around and looked for a setup. I got a used comp xr buggy and a peter lynn viper 5.3. dude, i was instantly hooked again. between work and winter, i havent had a fly for a few months, but recently for birthday, Mary got me a bum bag for the buggy and a windmeter, so im hoping to goet out in the park at least. Enjoy it mate, Doug. Quote
