big-jon Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 back to those decisions again - today or tomorrow? why do all the sites always say different things??? Quote
Evertone Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 Great vid Carl the new Charger looks good. Is it much different to the Synergy or just more of the same? Tony Quote
Bobby Posted May 14, 2010 Report Posted May 14, 2010 Knock, knock....door creaks open....anyone in? Not out loads lately but was out last week and was amazed how warm the water was, positively package holiday stuff. The 13 up, music on and the sun out and played about in bathtub goons for ages - lovely jubbly . Looks like a sunny Sat with an onshore blow and a midday tide. Got to be worth getting wet for.....and Stella's £9 for 24 bottles at Asda . Slap on the lotion and slip on the glasses. Looking forward to another Thompson mini break . Quote
Bobby Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Memorable day people Got in from the Liverpool Light Night (well worth going to IMHO) at 2 but by half 10 I'd dragged the body outta bed and into that lagoon. Only 13ish on the windclock enough just to cruise but nowt special cept for the sunshine. Picked up nicely by the end of the day though. By 5 I had orrible cramp in the thighs and packed up. Lots of land people but not loads of water dudes. Had a really great session at the end of the afternoon, me and another guy screamin along a frikken massive goon tricken of each other winding past the newbies and thinkin you probably wouldn't get this feeling if you paid hundreds and jetted of round the world. Did have another amazing moment but lest I sound like more nectar than normal slipped down my throat I'll shut my gob. Face looks like it doesn't belong, red face, white eyes and it all stops at the neck . Quote
garc Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Sounds ace Bobby. Trying to get up early tomorrow for some of those white arrows on COBS !! Hope they arrive. Quote
big-jon Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Had a great little session myself down at the beach today, think I saw you out on the lagoon Bobby! Was nice to get cruising on the sandbanks again - brought back a lot of love por the 'dale and the whole experience of the place I getting back to love once again!! Hopefully the fist of many days out in the sun!? Quote
big-jon Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Yesterday I was cruising the sand banks - today I was screaming up and down the sand banks!!! A short session today but still worth it!! Nice to see Carl down there doing his impressive stuff! Quote
garc Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 There's going to be some big red faces and knackered bodies today then ! Well worth the early start ! Quote
Bobby Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Like someones poured ketchup over my fizog carefully avoiding the eyes, a weird Panda look. Spookily the body's pain free.....give it time. A classic weekend that'll keep me stoked for at least the next work week. Sat was great but today's few more mph made it fantastic. Getting there on a high tide and kiting all them lagoons empty...all you land crabs get some rubber you don't know what you're missing. I saw a few dudes helping out today, nice one people. Sounds cheesy but we've a good bunch of kiters down there. Great to see Frankie - other side of Team Ground Crew. A few more weeks pal, bring your foils and boomerang (I remember catching that fast flying wood thinking, if you spoil this then you're gonna be frikken ugly ) and I'll bring the beer .....and if you're watching Brian, at the very last moment, just before the final splash down I saw you get up and stand proper, bit more right heel down dude and you'd have been there. PM me and we'll arrange something. Brilliant day Quote
Chris C. Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 at last got my permit just need some wind now Quote
Bobby Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Dragged the foils out and had a family fun, beer filled day down there. Never ever seen it so packed, cars were parked 5 rows deep, millions of people, dogs, and screaming kids. Had to go way past the mob to grab some peace and quiet. Mayhem at the entrance, counted 5 cars wheel arch deep in the soft stuff. A bit of my rates (and some of them 100s of £3.50s) and you'd think Sefton would have by now designed and built some intelligent solution to this. The look of desperation on a drivers face as his pride and joy settles down further and further is pitiful. They should hand out tow ropes at the entrance. Sailing with music is just perfecto - picked these up from Amazon; OverBoard Waterproof Pro-Sports Headphones: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo Work great and don't move out your lugs on hard landings like the individual efforts do. Wind famine at last looks like ending - forecast looks cool later in the week Quote
Popey Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 thanks for youre words of encouragement Bobby had a great time last sunday. Can't wait to get back in the water an give it another go, as you said forcast lookin good for later in the week. Attempted to drive upto S'port today myself, turned back before pontins as traffic not moving its amazing what this weather does to everyone!! Quote

Bobby Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Found out I'm just too lazy. It was just an ordinary Ainsdale sight, loads of cars sand stranded at the entrance with crying kids and grumpy old 'uns. No attempt at pushing was going to move em - well one actually did make it out with loads of help. The rest had to wait for karma believin' 4*4 folk who kindly donated a bit of clutch plate to the down trodden. Ended up parking at the rangers hut and yompin the kit all the way down the beach, why couldn't it have been a NNWesterly Not doing that again - way to much like hard work. Then was way over powered on the 13 - full depower, nowt left and the dude was still pickin me outta the water. 45mins and Mr.SmallTesticles kicked in and we high tailed it out. This entrance malarky is gettin way out of order - especially as the weekend wind is now lookin kinda sexy - Sunday especially. Quiet moment tomorrow and I'll pen a letter to Sefton's beach boss and copy in the local MP - will post back if I get a reply. Still nice being down there, always is and cheers for the transportation Brian . Quote
jtshort42 Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 Hello all, Not been down Ainsdale for a few years due to other commitments however I am ready now to enjoy landboarding again. I've got my insurance and pass and would like to join the AOSPKC however the link from the website appears broken. Can anyone give any idea as to how I can join please. Thanks Jeff Quote
Bobby Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 You probably know but it's not a requirement to join the AOSPKC Jeff but even if you just want to become a member I think it's barely alive anyhow - I could be wrong though. Probably PM'ing Mike - (Sandmonster) - for a definitive answer. Just turn up with your pass unwrap your kites and enjoy. Rangers are keen on seeing your pass at the mo so don't forget it. Sunday is backing off but still looking sweet . Quote
brassneck Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 thursday was first after work evenin sesh of the year.... how bad is that! good to see bobby and some familar tiree faces at the dale.... apologies for not stickin round when we got blown off late on... it was just too far to walk back to the rangers hut to hang around. ! as you say bobby, a hell of a trek from the rangers hut (still cant get my head round why they were so keen we walk all the way up , low tide, late evening, not a sole on the beach apart from us, ... bl00dy zones...mumble, grumble etc etc etc ) anyway... a good overpowered sesh on the big old 13, a good work out of a walk! and a welcome return to the dale..... hoping the wind starts to play ball, sefton council invest in a jcb and we get more evenings like that. Quote
PaulLaurie Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 jtshort42 re AOSPKC, Bobby's correct, you don't have to join AOSPKC, your pass and insurance is all you need to enjoy Ainsdale so go for it. Link to AOSPKC is http://www.aospkc.co.uk/ and the site is still up but not a lot of activity recently. It was more of a social thing rather than a requirement to join to use Ainsdale. Quote
Bobby Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 Looks like Sunday is going be epic and this suicide Sat'dy weather should have made beach access a whole lot better. Careful dudes - wind looks big to begin with, 7s and 9s only at the start turning 11m weather in the afternoon and unwrap your 13s around 6ish. All sizes catered for Sunshine all the way - so get the missus to rub in the lotion. HT about 1 so lunchtime kiters should be able to jump from their motors and sail away. Transferring some thumping tunes to the mp3 Quote

Sunday is backing off but still looking sweet . Jeff, I thought I'd sent an e-mail in response to your same query from the web page- perhaps it got lost in t'internet? Bobby is right, the AOSPKC is 'resting' at the moment due to lack of member enthusiasm and, frankly, no real need to exist as everything is hunkydory with the beach situation. May need to have a look at things with the BKSA being active in achieving NGB status and championing the land Freestyle side of things during 2009/10. I know Fleetwood have switched to BKSA. If anyone does want to take an active part in reviving & running the club - shout out. Cheers Mike PS Tomorrow definitely looks worth the trip. Quote
