Wise Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Been talking to a few people and it seems not everyone Including me couldn't make it too Yeppoon for Easter. Also found out that you don't get much wind in the winter, but i do. So thoguth i'd plan a weekend thinking end of May, saturday and sunday ride. i'll make sure the ground is smooth and hope the winds 20kn, should be sweet. PS Yes it'll be cold. Let me know if your keen, plenty of room to sleep, bbq and all that. i got big tarps for the kites(if your worried about getting dust on them) Quote
Hamil Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Sounds great, and I'm even in QLD that weekend - unfortunately with family the whole time Quote
gsalkield Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I and a mate work at the hospital in toowoomba have been feeling a little left out... he's getting into land boarding, and I'm getting into buggies, we should be there. Quote
Wise Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Posted April 23, 2011 man your like 45mins down the road PM me your numbers. always keen for a fly more so on weekends. we're getting a storm now so the land is going to be sweet this week, going to be wet again but its pissing down. just poring will have to wait till it dries out. SAAARRRWEEEEEEEEEEETTT Quote
Monkey Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Mr Wise Would you be so kind to post a pic of the field in question? A fellow rookie and I are quite keen (if you would host a few new faces), and I'd like to sneak a little look-see before I commit to coming... (truth is the friend is a little concerned about trees...) Quote
Wise Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 what tree's ?????? no tree's anywhere near where we will kite. maybe a fence around 40ha paddock. the spot where we bugged last time has one tree we used for shade and the next tree is about k away.(check out "play in the dust") good area for learners. coz you can either keep going straight or if you get in trouble just let the kite go and pick it up no worries down the paddock. only worry is dust and maybe stubble from the last crop. sluggo Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Chris check out wisey's Avatar to the right here .. .... .............................» Those trees way off in the heat haze are probably a k away Quote
Monkey Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 yeeeeewwWWWWWWW!!!!!!! Did you say we have a 40ha playground? Man that's rockin. Right, If you are willing to have me, I'm in for that weekend, & I'm sure angus will be in once I tell him there aint no trees.. I'll just show him the photo/your avatar. Quote
Wise Posted April 27, 2011 Author Report Posted April 27, 2011 40ha is the smallest area i have to play with Chris check out wisey's Avatar to the right here .. .... .............................» Those trees way off in the heat haze are probably a k away I didn't even think of that pic. thanks. its a bit gusty at the moment during the middle of the day, for some reason thats when i go out not very good idea. but about 2-3o-clock it settles down and it's not too bad. getts the old tica going. ground needs bit more rain to settle it down. no crust on it. but i have all my kites now i just need some nice wind maybe 10kn just to get each kite up and fly them see how they act and all that sort of thing. for those don't know my kites. Beamer4 2m Beamer4 4m Apex3 3m Apex3 7.5m Montana6 9.5m Montana6 12.5m Venom2 13m Shouldn't need any more land kites with all them and looks like the misses and her sister are very keen on kiting so next up is another buggy. good to see the girls interested Quote

So If your just watching that would mean you'd need someone to rotate the wheels on your buggy only to help you out, so the bearings didn't seaze up Quote
