Crispy Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Levellers - The Devil Went Down to Georgia. The only YouTube video seems to have omitted the bass so there doesn't seem much point posting a link to it. It rocks though. Quote
Dunc Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 Futureheads cover of Hounds of Love is way better then the Kate Bush version. Also the Goldfinger cover of is pretty amazing! Quote

spiky_dave Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 I would also say that Social Distortions version of is on a par with the late great Johnny Cash version. And Johnny Cash's verion of Hurt (originally a nine inch nails song) is much better (and more powerful) than the original. Quote

Guest TonyHolden Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 I Need A Hero. Way better than Bonnie Tyler http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VU0q-9uNhI Quote
Morb Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 Try 'Acid Eaters' , a whole cd's worth of covers Ramones-style ...and went on to be THE WORST Ramones album of ever all time! I must agree with the Cash version of 'hurt' though, he put so much emotion into that track. (and lets not forget, realistically, that NIN are/is a sack of cack apart from about err three? very early tracks) Quote

And Johnny Cash's verion of Hurt (originally a nine inch nails song) is much better (and more powerful) than the original. Damn near all of Johnny Cash's cover versions from his American series are equal to or better than the originals. U2's 'One' and NINs 'Hurt' mentioned above stand out as amazing covers. Not sure it's better but on the similar theme of C&W ballads Glen Campbell does a fine rendition of 'Times Like These' (Foo Fighters) Quote
