UK south welsh coast

ok this is the new and improved swansea gower thread but its to include all the beaches around the south welsh coast. heading out for some waves, flat water, hard sand or just a bit of grass post here.

tomorro is forcast for 15mph onshore at aberavon, 1pm ish low tide ill be there most of the day, anyone else?

were out tomorrow and im out then again on sunday. 5pm high tide and with a bit of luck the wind wil be higher than forcast just like it has been every other day so far for the last few weeks.

 

if your coming tomorrow look out for an octane and a waroo that will be me and rich.

Hey, can anybody recommend a good beach in South Wales for this Sat/Sun for boarding/buggying? Looking for nice hard sand and daylight low tides (funnily enough). And if you can supply the perfect wind it would be appreciated

 

Coming with missus so looking to stay near beach, but in or close to a nice town with hotels and a few pubs.

 

Was thinking of going to the Ho! but thought we may try South Wales instead... Or Goodwood FOS but that didn't go down well!

 

Sorry for my ignorance on your area but hope you don't mind helping out with some advice.

No - no membership required for Llangennith. Park in Hill End, and when on the beach turn right and walk until you cross the stream. Set up and play

 

Pembrey and Pendine are rock hard sand and loooong and wide - but you do need membership. Carmarthenshire Land Sailing Club - Carmarthenshire Land Sailing Club

 

Other than that, Aberavon is another good kiting beach - but you must set up and fly West of the promenade - no flying in front of the prom at all.

Camping in the park, chilled out and relaxed style event - stuff going on if you want to get involved, but plenty of space to just go ride if you don't. £30 for the weekend, including camping, and that includes half year membership (expires end 2010) so if you want to visit before or after the event this year, you can. You can even bring the mrs - if she doesn't kite, it'll only cost you an extra tenner

Yup - kids of any age are welcome

 

There's loads to do at the Park as well - dry ski slope, toboggan run, 'Go Ape', an equestrian centre and other stuff - as well as a huge beach.
