  1. Previously owned by pen dragon, he used it a fair bit then handed it to me when he moved onto the Dos. I've used it a handful of times on land and water but never really got on with it - just prefer foils tbh (bit slower and less aggressive ). There are a couple of tiny pinholes in the canopy that have been there since I bought it, makes no difference in the air. The foam on the bar is a bit worn but its just cosmetic. Kite, bar, lines and bag... might as well throw in a pump if you want it. Can view/collect from Newbury/Reading, maybe Swindon too. £350. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3314/3672702904_c1ccd944d4_o.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa140/pen-dragon/IMG_0262copy.jpg
  2. Didn't they close doors around this time last year too?
  3. This is a list of every 360 game that requires your console to be set to PAL 60: # Pro Evolution Soccer 6™ # Bomberman Act Zero # Dead or Alive 4 # Dynasty Warriors® 5 Empires # The Outfit # The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion™ # NBA® 2K6 # NHL® 2K6 # Final Fantasy® XI # Test Drive Unlimited # Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter™ # Top Spin™ 2 # Hitman™: Blood Money # Ninety-Nine Nights™ As you can see it isn't huge, so I wouldn't worry about it unless you particularly care for one of the above titles. Every other game can be played with the console set to 50hz.
  4. Unfortunately not . Its basically a watered down assassins creed with linear levels, ott macho voice acting and a magical girlfriend. My advice would be stick with ass creed and mirrors edge.
  5. Rock climbing was a favourite last time round this was asked. I builder, occasionally boulder and will be getting into slacklining come the new year hopefully. If you have some good spots then longboarding is excellent - bournemouth has some great parks and a pretty good female presence from what i remember! Hear hear. Now lets just see the two combined
  6. I don't see why? Back in the day ATB skate trucks ALWAYS used to banana after a bit of use. Can't say it really changed the feel of the truck much or provided any extra grip. Currently I'd say the best way of increasing grip is to bag a set of T3s, crazy grip on those tyres, a very noticeable upgrade from alphas, T1s or ballistiks.
  7. Yeah heard its in a bit of a state - imagine you'd get away with static flying but you'll only get so much feel for a kite doing that. Hopefully in a couple of weeks it'll be in better shape, then maybe I can get some kiting in since thats the nearest/only place for me at the moment
  8. Take spooky up on that offer, not only does he have the kit he has plenty of knowledge to share too. Between himself and and Stu at ATBShop theres a collection of just about every open-cell depower foil worth trying. Obviously the kites they carry are current season so outside your budget but they'll be comparable to those of previous years, and I'm certain either of them would be able to explain any noticeable differences. You're also welcome to try my 10m '07 Frenzy too as I'm up at Lydiard on occasion, and that falls a fair bit closer to your budget. Coincidently its also what I used to get back into kiteboarding after an 18 month hiatus.
  9. Xbox 360 is region locked, even after modification. I don't know anything about available chips but they might sort it, though to be honest it really isn't worth going that far just for dvds (as most 360 games are region free anyway, 'cept for stuff from EA). You can make a copy of your dvds to RW discs, and depending on what software you use you can choose to strip the region lock, which will make them playable on 360. Or, rip to PC and use the media streaming function instead. Those are probably the best options.
  10. Consider the following: N+, Castle Crashers, Portal (if you haven't got it already in Orange Box), Fable, Burnout 3, Ninja Gaiden Black
  11. Don't forget HQ Neo/Flysurfer options, they'll be closer in handling to your Access than an LEI. If you go LEI might be good idea to avoid C-kites as they're a bit full on compared to an Access. Size wise an equiv. power SLE/Hybrid would be around 8m, but expect a much larger wind range than you get from a foil. Instinct Light is a good option, 7 or 9 depending on whether you think you'll spend more time on the water or on land (7 for land, 9 for water, as you generally need a bit more power). There are plenty of others of course, best bet as always is to try out what you can and see what you prefer.
  12. Been playing this at a friends for the past week or so (thanks to his local shop breaking the release date before Sony issued the recall), really cannot be compared to anything else out on the market at the moment. The main story is solid, 51 levels that get pretty tough towards the end, and its so nice to be playing a modern platformer. A few issues with the gameplay mechanics, mostly due to the 3 different planes that you can move on, and the game trying to automatically assign you to a plane to get through a certain area (ie to jump to the correct platform). 95% of the time it works great, 5% it gets it wrong and you feel a bit short changed. Mostly its not an issue though, and definitely something I could live with. Being able to drop in/out of play both locally and online is great, and if you have some friends with a copy of the game then its great to get involved online. Some user levels can only be completed co-operatively. The level creator is excellent - very easy to use, and the scope of what can be created is huge (sure you've seen the calculator, combustion engine, working 1st level of Gradius, etc, etc). A lot of the concern reviewers gave the game was over the focus on creating levels, worrying that not everyone will be interested in putting in the necessary time. Thing is, some people always will, so there are an abundance of excellent user levels already on the servers, with god knows how many more to come. There will always be new content available even if you don't feel you want to contribute yourself. This may be the game that makes me shell out for a PS3.
  13. Did you wait for the bit after the credits? It might as well scream "TRILLOOGGIEESSS!!!11" at you. As for Fallout 3 - if you like FPS, don't buy it. If you like Fallout 1 or 2, don't buy it. If you liked Oblivion then consider it, as thats basically what it is (but with guns). Guess thats what happens when you hand it over to Bethesda.
  14. Am I right in thinking theres already a decent set heading out between Reading and Wokingham?
  15. Worth it if just for horde mode with a couple of friends. Storyline in campaign is ok though the ending is terrible, worst ending to a major release in quite a while.
  16. You'll be lucky to find any for sale this side of the world I'm afraid. Best bet is to buy from an Aus shop, they'll work out pretty cheap that way assuming you don't get hit by customs.
  17. How do you plan on making the leaf spring design depress under the riders weight when cornering without being depressed constantly during riding (which in turn would prevent the board from turning without the removing weight)? I assume you'd have to tailor the springs to depress halfway under normal riding weight, in which case they'd have to be custom to the riders weight? When designing a speed truck its often tempting to go for a floating axle design like this, removing the pivot point greatly reduces the chance of speedwobble as theres no longer a point for the truck to oscillate around. This was the basic principle behind the Revolution truck (I'm sure Spike will explain the design further), which I have been fortunate enough to have ridden for over 4 years. I only use this truck for downhill, my reason being that, as far as design has gone so far, floating axle designs all have a very limited turning circle, or require a fair bit of force to utilise it. When riding downhill I use snowboard bindings, which gives me enough leverage over the truck to make it function under my weight. Undoubtedly I have not used a better truck for that application and would need some serious convincing before I consider switching. However for kiteboarding, even F3s don't provide enough leverage, making trucks very difficult to turn. Fine for speed runs, but as an all-round truck I find it difficult to work with. Currently for kiteboarding I'm using skates, set looser than most people ride. I'm still waiting for a truck with a good turning circle that handles speed.
  18. T3s are a lot grippier than the GIs, so far I've found them to be the grippiest tyre on the market by a fair margin, which caught me off guard at first. For general inland use I don't like them, finding that they grip too much making it difficult to put my board sideways through tacks, to slow down or for correction when landing with the board at a bit of an angle. However they excel on less grippy surfaces like sand, and particularly on wet grass. This is just my opinion, I prefer to sacrifice a bit of grip for the sake of slide control, but I can see why these would be an excellent choice for a lot of people. I currently use GIs.
  19. If you're just exporting for compression then that should be fine, ignore what happens when you play it back in dv and just put it through whatever compression software you use. Otherwise, Premiere has a pretty good built in media encoder, I usually stick with H264 or FLV depending on where the videos going to end up.
  20. ah yeah dv avi is notoriously a pain the arse for playback, aspect seems to go all over the place. You'll probably find that with the raw footage you captured straight off the tape too. Some players (eg WMP) don't have a problem, others (eg MPC) do. Is there any particular reason you're sticking with dv avi?
  21. Try changing pixel aspect to 16:9 in export settings. How are you exporting, custom settings or using the Adobe Media Encoder? If you let me know which I can grab a screenshot showing where to do this if you'd like.
  22. I buy games that are worth their retail cost (cod4, skate, gears, crackdown, bioshock, etc). I also buy games if they've well supported by their developers (ie Burnout Paradise, or just about anything Valve have put on Steam). I do not buy games that are not worth their retail cost, or that come to us in the UK months (if not years) after reaching retail in Japan/USA (*cough* NINTENDO). If I can have a game for free up to 12 months before I can legally purchase it, why would I bother waiting? Support developers who bring out good games that push the boundaries, offer good support, free aftermarket DLC, and offer games timely and without ridiculous territory delays. Do not support those bringing out endless shovelware, saturating the market with tacky, unnecessary gimmicks. But you would go to a car dealer and ask for a test drive. They still have the car, you now have enough knowledge to know whether its worth putting down the £££. Thing is for a lot of people its not too dissimilar to a 10-day returns policy. I'd spend an absolute fortune on fuel/public transport getting to the nearest gamestation if I wanted to try and then return every game I don't enjoy; instead I get them ported straight through to my pc, onto whatever platform and then I can make a decision there. 9/10 times I'll quit playing the game within a week, and if I don't then I end up buying it.
  23. If hes on holiday at the Ho my guess would be he wants it sharpish. Big Sheep/SWMBC(/whatever the hell they call themselves these days) is a good call, go 1 mile south on the A39 and turn right, I'm pretty sure its signposted?
