    Lipno Lipno Lipno!

Wolves? What wolves? I don't remember no wolves Oh and please can we feed Rebbecca some coffin paint again? That was most entertaining Well until the point where she fell over anyway... Loki
  2. Dunno what to say C, I hope you can get through this and find the kick again. hugs I
  3. Nope, I was thinking about it when I found a pair of terraskates. They look like they might be quite hard on the ankles cos of the height the axles are off the ground. Terraskates are tough enough and they are much closer to the ground. You ought to be able to locate a pair of second hand skates to try it though. Our local charity shop had some a couple of weeks back (gone now). I thought about buying some cheap ski bindings and making some up using them and a pair of ski boots instead too. Pretty sure that would work well enough. Loki
  4. Well the site might be in dutch, but I think there's a fair chance that the guys that run the shop will speak english. If there is a phone number, give them a ring, you never know. Loki Oh and good luck. Although you might consider it lucky you can't find any and take up something safer instead. Like shark wrestling. Or naked street luge
  5. Keep a close eye on the for sale section here... That's were I got mine (thanks moomin ) They do appear occasionaly, there was another set a couple of months ago. Failing that you could build some doomwheels... Loki
  6. A troll is a post that is sent out just to get a reaction. Used twice, sold for £90 and has a seatbelt? Something doesn't sound right. You can't buy seatbelts you have to design and fit them yourself, or talk a mate into doing it for you. Anyone who is prepared to go to this length would probably : a) not buy a buggy thay are only going to use twice b) knows how and where to get more than £90 for a new flexi. I guess I'm just overly suspicious, in which case you really have hit lucky. I wouldn't remove the footstraps, by the way. I think they are useful right from the start. If you hit a bump and one foot slips off, then having footstraps can mean that you keep control of the steering long enough to get your foot back in. Your choice though, as getting yanked out of the bug with a foot still caught is potentially dangerous. Loki
  7. Carefull now, beginners (and trolls ) shouldn't wear seatbelts...... Loki

First rule of kiting: Always take your kites Second rule: Always take ALL your kites You know it makes sense.... Loki
  9. Not just that, but please find someone else to do the music. I won't call him a DJ, any DJ judges the reaction of their crowd and goes with it..... Everything else was brilliant. Thanks flexi. Iain
  10. I'm hoping I can make it so that I wouldn't even notice it was there whilst I'm flying. There would only be a short length of cord from chicken loop to seatbelt release. The only annoying bit would be having to reset it.. Iain
  11. Not sure I understand this fully. Does the spreader bar fasten across your lap so it acts as a belt? And how does releasing one end release the kite? I would have thought that there would be a danger of it staying on the hook. I think I would rather avoid attaching the kite to the buggy other than via me. I would be most interested in seeing how the system works though. Any chance of a pic? Loki
  12. Absolutely right on the pushing ourselves and getting better bit. Not quite right on the slowing down bit though. If you really want to get round a course fast then you will have to get your corner entry speed right. ie not too slow or too fast. Too fast is way more fun, but it won't win any races, or keep you upwind. Too slow is boring. Both are slight mistakes.... Loki
  13. It's time I fitted a belt on my buggy and I have been spending a LOT of time thinking about how it should work and studying what others have done. One thing I haven't seen done yet is multiple release. I can't think of a situation where I would want to release the kite and not the seatbelt. Is this a bad idea? I use a bar most of the time and what I think might work is having a release pin on the seatbelt that is leashed to the chicken loop. That way if I ditch the kite, I also release the belt. Note that I wouldn't want to make this the only safety release. Releasing the belt but not the kite would also be an option. Loki ps I know I probably need a different buggy if I'm going to jump
  14. Err, what about Slowing Down Sorry, I'll get my coat...
  15. Mine has a double ended zip and a press-stud flap. I Unzip upwards until I can clear the harness hook, then do up the studs below the hook. Simple. Loki
  16. I should think so. I was out in a my buggy with my 15.5 P1 at the weekend. Great fun. Try it first in 10mph and don't even think about it if it's gusty. That probably means waiting for an easterly wind in this part of the world. How good are you in a buggy? Loki
  17. I don't think it counts as a religeon until we: a) stop thinking for ourselves b) start killing non-kiters Loki Ps The poll doesnt mention speed..... Pps I'm with moomin. Couldn't have put it better myself.
  18. Nah. Get plently of flying experience on non depower, then go for the size that suits you. Bigger may be more powerful, but it is also slower and more predictable. If you are flying in the right wind range for your kite then the bigger kite is safer. Small kites for high winds can be nasty scary things.... Loki
  19. Errrm, Isn't that the point? Loki
  20. Maybe. It should be ok in light summer breezes, but most of the time you will probably want something smaller. If you wanted to play on the water then the 12.5 would be a good first choice. On the land it would be best as a second kite for low wind days. Then again if you are heavier than me (65kg) and have more nerve.... Oh and Jangla has a point. We are talking about kites that can bite here. Be careful. Loki
  21. Oh yes!! P1 is possibly not the perfect buggy kite, but what fun :). I quite like buggying with a bar. Steer with one hand, other arm wrapped around the side rail. Second hand P1's are worth a look if you want a cheaper fs. You may need more than a 5 minute test flight to get the hang of one though. Not sure I would recommend the pre P1 fs's though. My speedair is alternately a sweet little thing and a scary little b*st*rd. But hey, it's all good learnin... Loki
  22. Couple of ideas: 1) Kite boat, something like a surf canoe with rudder and keel 2) Video/Camera system that can be used whilst flying. Helmet cam plus remote shutter controls on the bar. Oh, and don't let people put you off by telling you something is impossible. Someone will have said that about most great ideas. If you think it will work, then go for it. Loki
  23. Playing music, and people dancing and screaming for more.... Loki
  24. I agree, the look went downhill along with the introduction of the jet flaps. The speeds look pretty good, but not as elegant as the psycho1. Might change my mind on that when I actualy see one in the flesh tho. Loki
  25. I hafta agree with Bushfler on the colour scheme. Beautiful. Still looks like a runaway windbreak though Loki
