  1. please feel free to try The Airfield, MASC, midlands air sports club. just north of loughborough. dedicated kite sports site, and can't be too far from you. happy to help . Tim
  2. Just a quick reminder to all the kite flying new East midlands students out there, that we've got a 52 Acre dedicated flying site right in the centre of the region, between Derby/ Nottingham/ Leicester Just north of Loughbobough ! Day flying tickets available at the weekend, just bring your gear (Helmets mandatory) and check out the site. Find us on Facebook and our website at Home - Midlands Air Sports Club Tim Bennett MASC
  3. You are welcome to practice with LEI and land board with us in Leicestershire, sadly very much land based, but many of us use LEI inland so lots of experience. I found wakeboarding helped to get up, have done both box end and Holmpierpont in Notts, definitely worthwhile!! find us at http://www.midlandsairsports.org.uk , formerly Airbossworld now independently club run. But really, head for Old Hunstanton!!
  4. I'm opening the airfield 10:00 am Saturday. I hope to see lots of people there
  5. Enough Airboss bashing please ! I don't know about Ozone or Flexifoil, but I do know that Mutiny didn't turn up 'cos they said their kit wasn't ready, not ABW fault. Did you talk to the shop about demo kit ? They are usually only too happy to let people take out demo kit if they have it. It was a good event, and despite the wind, gusty Sunday and disappearing Monday, I had a great time, as many I spoke to did too. It's a great little venue, and the shop try very hard to make such events work. Food ? This was advertised that bringing your own food was fine.... What's the problem ! Let's let history remain in the past ! I am a local, and it is my local site. I want to see the venue open. I support my local kite shop Tim
  6. Good luck with the sales Nat Be Happy Tim
  7. "Stick to Kites " ? It IS a kite Its a kite for low / no wind days I hope to use it as a video platform when I've got a bit better at flying it. @vinylking, thanks for the link. Cheers Tim
  8. I was given it !! "hey your're into kites, want this old thing ? " The rest is history. Next time we meet, I'll have a chat with you about it
  9. On Sunday morning I finally managed my 1st flight of my Flexifoil Windbag ! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v41/impmad2000/Kites/IMG_3685-1.jpg I need to change something (propellor I believe) to get more power, and tweak the trim on the canard, but it was teriffic to see this old '80 design take flight. Cheers Tim
  10. Smaller ARCs work great with a buggy
  11. I don't think I'll pass as under 18 ! But I'll see if Antony wants to come along. TBH, I'm not liking the vibe on this thread. This is a charity event isn't it ? To support the air ambulance, yes ? I, personally, think that is well worth supporting. Please all, take a step back and be sure you are making your comments for the right reason. Any charity event that put money into a charity supported service that you may well end up needing, is in my book worthy of support. Cheers Tim
  12. You'll have to stop hosting events at the Airfield !! I'll never get my car finished at this rate So what's the event James ? free style, race, tuition, or all of the above ? Tim
  13. Woo Hoo ! Still ony half way down the list !!
  14. If you can make the Airboss Holloween Jam at the weekend, I can let you try a V2 13M . Cheers Tim
  15. I achieved my Black Belt this year in GoKanRyu Karate. Sure, not full on contact, and lots of Kata, but for all round fitness, strength and flexibility, I've never been better. Started at age 35, taken 7 years, I even tought for a while. I only started 'cos my lad wanted to go. He all but quit and I kept going. Definately helps me with fitness for kiting Tim
