  8. Great review, it's good to hear that someone else likes the Skjorpio as much as I do!
  9. Shame about your bad experience with the Diablo bushflyer, mine were excellent. The 8.5 was very good on land and both were good on water. Stability was excellent as long as you flew in onshore winds of sufficient strength. Gareth
  10. In August I'll be spending a weekend in Bridport Dorset. What are the best spots nearby to kitesurf? Are there any restrictions etc?
  11. 8.5 Blade, no hassle, self launching, and I'm on the water while the LEI boys are still pumping up..... :-) 169 or 149, 12.5 stone.
  12. Kitesurfing is allowed in the central area during the winter months, I believe up until Easter. Everything wheeled has to use Jurys gap.
  13. I've also seen it done with a Raptor 1.
  14. There was a guy surfing with a Bullet at Greatstone a few weeks ago. I didn't see it myself but I was told he was doing well.
  15. I ditched my Blade a couple of times when I was learning to waterstart but once I was up and running it was very easy to keep the kite in the air, and it's never come close to hitting the water since. We use a 2 line set up on on a bar, it's all you need. Gareth
  16. The trick is not to dump it of course. I've seen surfers spend far longer trying to relaunch their blimps.
  17. There are a few of us who surf with blades at Camber, they're excellent, very stable, loads of grunt, and you're on the water 15-20 mins sooner then the guys with the inflatable toys. :D
  18. This thread was started with a request for kitesurfing locations abroad. The apartment in question is not owned by a company but by a fellow enthusiast looking to rent it out to others when he's not in residence.
  19. Even worse are the people who try to flog their cars etc on a KITE forum. Non kite related ads should be deleted by the administrators.
  20. IMHO I think that's the whole point of Flow, it's entertainment not instruction, and as entertainment it succeeds brilliantly. It is after all, about lifestyle, and I also take the point that it won't float everyones boat. There are loads of other DVD's that show endless repetitive tricks, and there's nothing wrong with that either. What's wrong with owning both types and enjoying them for different reasons?.....
  21. My view is i want to learn every time and this is clearly an advert with no intention of sharing knowledge. I spent the entire time with super slow mo on the dvd, show me one sequence where you learned something(other than the guy with no straps jumping off the board mid carve and going heel to toeside, that was special...............) 22. Have PM'd you.
  23. .... A 1.7m Rhombus Quadro drags 2 of you across a field! Some years ago at Beachy Head my My Quadro pulled it's stake out and as it shot across the field the handles caught in the bridle of another Quadro, that to came off it's stake. Two of us ran and leapt on the handles but by this time the kite was spinning at high speed generating huge amounts of power, enough to drag us running, and sliding on our backsides, about 100 yards!
  24. Another good board to start with is the Cyclone 145x43, a greet board to learn on and progress with. I have a friend who's recently learnt with one and seems to be reluctant to change it, even though he could go smaller. I started on a Litewave 169, which is one of the best boards to learn on but you find yourself wanting something smaller quite soon. By the way, my friend weighs more then 12.5 stone! http://www.flexifoil.com/community/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif Gareth
  25. Apologies too Ned who's obviously a teenager with good taste!
