  1. Gee, I thought this was only an "American" problem. Have you seen the clowns they expect us to choose from? What frightens me most is that there are folks that would actually vote for some of these clowns! Enough on politics from this yank, I'd go fly, but it is lightening out.
  2. Well, here's to you for supporting a great cause!
  3. Congrats, Steve! Let us know how she works out for you! Thanks John, Extreme Kites, and Born Kites for a fun competition.
  4. So here's another problem. I've lost internet at my apartment, and can't seem to access my paypal account from the library here. I can't send a lot, certainly the cost of my favorite, or two. I was going to try to pm you to explain this dilemma, but I don't qualify for that feature yet. If you can pm me your address, I will send you some American $, and you can exchange it. That is if our cash is still worth anything anywhere, anymore!
  5. I was drawn to power kiting through the snow kite route. Living next to the Tug Hill region of upstate NY, there was lots of snow and wind in the winter, and plenty of open hayfields to ride, with the farmers permission. I still mostly get dragged around on my face in the snow, but that's another story. Once I found out you could sit down in a buggy and have this much fun, well you know the rest. I credit forums like this one and the PKF, as well as others, and also Angus from Coastal wind sports with his tutorials for feeding my stoke, and keeping me in touch with an amazing community of folks from all over the world.
  6. Awesome buggy you got there!
  7. Thanks, Joel. I guess I missed it. I'll go back and try again.
  8. Hey gum-nuts, I like wine too! Good thing that you are doing here, and I'm not sure if I could get through a month (esp. July, my birth month) without any alcohol. I don't drink often, but I do get thirsty at times. I'd like to contribute, but unfortunately, I have had to cut all my credit cards to little pieces. Something to do with buying too many kites! If you have a paypal account I could gift you a donation through there. Bob
  9. I've been able to hit 49 kph with a 3.4M NPW9 by HQ on the shore of Lake Ontario in wind gusting up from 25mph.
  10. Excellent video! I've always loved watching the euros race, but when I do, I realize what a wuss I am! Those kites were way larger than I would select for the wind that looked like it was howling! Good job.
  11. Hi Joel, Thanks for the welcome, and the explanation. I thought maybe my age/feeblemindedness was catching up with me, but your explanation makes sense. That avatar works just fine, thanks again. Bob
  12. This is a really great video! I've never seen so many NASA wings in the air at the same time! Even at Wildwood(buggy bash in New Jersey, USA) we only usually get about 3 NASA's in the air. Love it.
  13. Cheers, all! Been a member at the PKF for going on 8 yrs. now, just signed up here, and since my old avatar is here, I guess I must have signed up before and forgot. Anyway, many kites, mostly HQ, but also several NPW's by kitemaker 4, PKF's own NPW goddess. I'd love the opportunity to try the Born NASA Star 3's. Thanks to extreme kites and Born kites for this great giveaway. This site looks great! Thanks again, Bob.

    Ozone IMP

I thought kitefighter's review of the Imp was right on. I recently bought a 3.5 model, and couldn't be happier.
