Marty you have to stop the guys wetting the grass, as it will kill it and it will become dusty. Great camera work, we had trouble in the ninties holding the box brownie while holding the handles of a peel & CQuad!!! Times have changed. We are doing the Emu Park Kite Festival on 1st April 2012 on the beach. I get kites up on Fri as well as Sat before the Festival if anyone wants to call by. QKS will have a few members there on Sat & Sunday. Alan (Pres QKS)

I have been buggying in Pelican Park since 1997, until one person got his friends to complain to Red. Council. only because he could not do it. 3 of his friends wrote letters, amazing how Councils will only listen to one side. (It is still the same Mayor) We finally kicked him out of our Club so he started his own. He ruined the fun and frivolity for 12 buggyiers, we used to draw a very large crowd, not for kites but the fun we had. The Police dropped in with Radar gun one day - clocked us at 55k across that 'little park', it's not the size that matters, it's the ability to turn before the fence! We also used to buggy there at night which was a great thrill. Better with full moon! Alan

Emu Park 17th April 2011 Thanks Jamie for all your help, we had a grand day, left the Dog's right rear foot in the pine tree. If it comes down could someone please mail it to me in Brisbane. I might bandage his foot and put a Peg Leg on it! The Lion's Club were thrilled with our display, and the weather was perfect until Sunday night then the storms came in. We had rain so heavy right through to Agnes Water, hopefully it has gone for your next weekend, Yeppoon Buggy Runs. One year I will get there, but this year we have to rebuild the house after the floods, no insurance so we do it alone....... Good luck, Mike (Wolfie) hope you get the 'All Clear' Happy Easter to all, drive safely - they are out there. Alan

Jason the skins were sown together the wrong way & it would not lift (according to PL) we sent it back..... Alan

I too would like to add my thoughts to Steve's. I met Bob quite some years ago and just had so much help from him, he showed me the way to power-kiting, buggies and was always so willing to help everyone. He was always a great bloke to have at a Festival. My thoughts go to the fellows in the 'Seabreeze team' Mike, Roger & Chris their loss is just so great. As President of Queensland Kite Flyers Society I would like to pass on the Club's condolences, for many Members were touched by Bob. We will be flying a 'Bob Dawson Kite' at our Festivals in August, September, October & November in his memory. Alan

Yes, Jamie I am already here had a long buggy this arvo with 14kts from North. Put a few S-liners up to tell the locals it was on. Looks as though the wind will be northerly all weekend so should be a great weekend. All we need now is people! Hope to catch up with you. Alan BTW I went for a run to Farnborough at lunchtime but alas no Buggies - the wind was just starting to build up. For all the people dreaming, this is what it looks like on Friday 9th April.

It rains every night here, great to keep the car clean! Anyway we got a clear spot and got the kites up, the wind was up and down - the lifter had trouble but we made it the best we could. Then they had the Helicopter bear drop, and who should win the major prize (Carol Gurney) from NSW or AKS. Congratulations Carol, very well done! Graham will a new playmate now. Bears, bears, bears After it was all over it started to rain so many of the locals came over to help me pack up. Thank you one and all for your help and great friendship while we have been in Tasmania. We need to encourage more people to take the trip over here as the place is just great. You will not be sorry. Spectactular scenery, fantastic people (they all speak English and are so easy to talk to!). The easy-going style of Tasmanians is really something to be admired. Thank you all who have helped Donna & I. Alan

We put a few kites up in Devonport at the Bluff, yesterday just to tempt the locals, must have been good the Moscow Circus in next park came over to see just what was going on!!

Yes! Great weekend. And thank you David, Tim & Dudley for your help especially carrying the big bag & kites down & back from the car. The water in Tasmania is beautiful

Ok! Well I'm here, where are you guys? Oh! bloody daylight saving. 11deg last night, better than Northern Victoria last Monday 42deg. See you on the beaches Alan

It sure is a great weekend - I have missed the last two because I was touring Tasmania & doing kite festivals, but next year 2011 I will be back. The wind off the Southern Ocean is jut so smooth - and at 40 knots it is real fun. My wife is still carrying on about driving the motorhome along the beach down there, we sure cannot do that in Qld. Anyone learning to buggy go for this weekend - you will know how to do it by the end. And the people are great, camp on the beach for extra thrills. Phil buggying at midnight, in the ..... (wot happens on beach stays on the beach) I really am missing it - be there next year, friends. alan

Yes Dave we will be there with a few new kites to add some more colour. It really is a great 10 days. It sure is a beautiful part of this Country to tour. Looking forward to catching up with you all, again. Alan
