    i use a wind meter but more so because i have a shit load of kites and to put them all out would take half the day and i get a better idea on what will work and what wont and i can get the avge from it

    well i still had the price tag on the case it came in it was less then a week old and i didnt give him much choise in it he was eather going to come up with the cash or i was going to take the 450 out on him eather way he was about to pay and given he was built like a weed he wasnt about to punch on but i have been told that there is inshurince for while in use that covers your kite for shuch things

    i only have the non vented quantum pro and have seen the vented on prism site was thinkingof getting 1 for higher wind as most smaller kites r harder to trick with high wind and just dont fly that nice i have tryed a few kites and didnt like much at all maby i expect to much to get something that will fly like the zephyer or qoantum pro in higher wind but u have saved me some $ cause i was about to get a vented qp

    its deff more then 8 knots in that vid 8 knots is not much wind at all but not inpossable to get going in light wind 15 is much better but i was lurning on a 13m in 10 knotsand was able to get up on the board after a few goes at it

    mate i know how u fell i was at mu sons school which i have permishion to be there out of school hours and there r signs everywhere saying no dogs and had just go a new zephyer and this was months ago when they cost about the $450 mark so im down there withe the kite when some thing dog grabs it out of the air and runs only by the time i got it back it was destroied and only days old luchy for me the guy who dog it was came around in the end and got a new 1 for me from the shop he did take a bit to convince him he had to pay 1 way or another lucky he decided to buy a new 1 i didnt wat to punch on in front of my kids but dogs should b on a leach if there not in a yard andnot on 1 of the dog parks i still would have made him get me a new 1 iven if it was a small hole in it but thats me

    it gives u the shits having to pay so much for a kite i remember being a kid and kites were cheap as but they have come a long wat from when i was a kid and even in the last 5 years thay have inproved heaps and paying a bit extra sux but the price of everything has gone up so much in the last year and there will prob b a lot more 2nd hand kites around iv been thinking of selling my quantum i just dont use it much now i have a zephyr n quantum pro and think there will b others out ther that will get rid of kites thay dont use much id just end up putting the $ in to a new kitw anyway but gone r the days where 2 sticks and news paper and some cheap live would do the job these days it just want cut it

    its not so bad i have 10 kites and right now cant fly any of them due to bloody brocken ankle id much rather having to buy a new part than have them all sitting there ready to go and me setting in bed with my leg up trying to stop the pain but i try to keep a few bits n peaces for my kites for the reason u have run in to if u only have the 1 kite then its much easyer both spreaders r the same on mine and a spear ferel set of lines and thats about it

    fir me i like the prism kites i have a quantum as i started with it is good in strong wind and the kids can get hold of it and can tack some big hits and i have a zrphyr and quantum pro as well both great kites for what they were ment to do i live my rev its a lot of fun and my 3m crossfire is the pick of foils it pulls hard as and is fast for its size and my 13m rev 2 is a nise surf kite good power fast for a 13m and easy to lurne on

    i think the red looks better and red goes faster i have 10 kites and didnt worry about colour at all its all good it the shop have a heap to chouse from i have a b serese in yellow it looks good and wolfie has in the red and that looks good to i say go with what u like and whats avalable

    if u r looking for stunt/freestyle for higher wind the prism quantum pro comes in a vented as well if u look on there site they list the wind range they can fly in

    wolifer is right i got a rev sig about 4 months a go and the thing was all over the shop and twichy as controle comes with practise and the twichy bit is just a rev and the more u play with it the easyer it gets when i got mine i couls bearly keep it in the air for more then a min or 2 and now with some time on it find it so much fun and keep it in the car all the time just in case im driving past a park and see there is good wind get out with some of the guys that have them and pick up as much as u can

    quantum pro bridel set up any advice for the best way to set this kite up a have a zephyr as well and seems to fly much better then the pro band the waidhts on there seen to make it wosre at times

    i dont have the bug but i got a small foil for my son a buzz i thing there very close to being the same thing he is 7 and has a ball with it and yes i have had it out on some real high wind days and had a lot of fun with it with the high wind its so fast simple can still b fun

    if u can get your hands on the prism freestyle dvd it has a lot of tricks in ther and shows how to do them very well and where u will run in to problems i found in very light wind geting the kite a full circule around u is easy as but isint realy a trick but roll up r easy as and id u have a kite that will fly up side down the i think it is a lazy suzen is easy to do its realy a flat spin wile the kite is up side down but get the dvd if u can or even youtube has some great stuff on there and i think on the prism web site there r a few lessons for some tricks hope this helps u and u find what your looking for

    i go with the figer 8 andseen to only have a few probs and most times its with my rev but mast of the time its only twisted no knotes or tangels if u keep it tight and neat when winding up it will help

    i was out playing a 3m crossfire in 20+knots only a week after getting it when i fell and was draged about 200m i could have let go any time and let the kite killers take over but it was to much fun it did rip my shirt off and hade some cool scrathes and gravel rash and just last week was kite surfing on a brocken ankle i broke it on a bike but was going to make the best of the wind

    i have mine on the 4th knot as advised on the rev dvd it works well there and givs heaps eather way to play with later when u get the hang of it and found it was good even 1st time with a rev was easy to controle i did find it much better to fly in wind 8 knots and up

    go for a prism zephyr good in light wind and still good when the wind starts to pick up and there a nice kite for tricks ans freeltylei have 10 kites right now from single lines for my 3 year old to a 13m surf kite and have a zephyr and quantum pro and both r fun to play with the quantum needs a lot of playing around with to get it to fly sweet butu can adgust about everything on itand they have a waight set so when the wind realy picks up u can slow it down with the extra waight

    i know u said u had about $200 but id advise to get a higher end kite 2nd hand or just save up a little longer i got a prisem zephyr and is a sweet kite to fly i know they go for around $350 but the extra $ will get u a much better kite i also got the quantum pro and there going now for about $400 and is a very nice kite to fly and 1st u need to work out where the gap is in your your kites o u want something for light wind or for the stronger winds oif your looking for something diffrent go for a rev again the cost is more but r so much fun to fly if your in brisbane pm meand ill be happy to let u have a go of what i have try a few kites see what u like ask the shops for a demo kite to have a go of

    for survice in brisbane i cant go past kite power qld jon has been real hekpful with getting me the kites i wanted and has always bee willing to do a great deal on them 9 of the 10 kites i own come from kp qld and right now and getting my som in to kite surfing and again jon was more the happy to find the time to fit him up with all the gear in a size that fits well and again is able to do a great deal on it all i have been to the other shops hear in brisbane and and found survice at 1 very poor 1 was ok but i did end up with a kite tas want work for what i wanted it for and the other i wouldnt wast my time even calling them wouls b a wast of 50c abt 10 mins kite power have even stayed open a extra hour when i was stuck in traffic on my way to pick up kites 1 day kp qld gets my vote

    it is realy good to find a shop with grate survice the guys at kite power in bris have been great to deal with for me always doing good price on everything iv got and now im getting my 7 year old in to kite surfing jon there has been a great help with finding gear that fits well and grate price on it all i say support the shops that suppore us
