  3. have just taken delivery of an ozone IMP3,($100 off ebay) for my now keen girlfriend...took it out for a test drive and must say that i was impressed...it does come with the bar setup,(2 lines) and a leash... after flying it for a few minutes on the bar, i decided to land the kite and fit some padded flying straps that i use on my larger deltas... i must say that i enjoyed it more on the straps than the bar, as it allows for faster, tighter turns.. the bar will have its place, but i will encouraging Deb to fly on handles first... build quality appears to be great, and i can see this is going to be hours of fun for anyone who wants to join in! For $100, i couldnt ask for anything more!!!
  4. hi ash, would you let it go for $300? squidrun

  13. years ago while flying 3m deltas, i had the urge to see what it would be like with extra lines up....original lines were 40m so attatched a second set, 80m total.... it got up past the lumpy, turbulant wind alright... but i did find it to be dragging too much and not half as much fun as flying on the normal length lines....and that by itself, was enuff for me to make my mind up...

  16. have been reading a sales pitch regarding a Baseboard, and was wondering if anyone can shed some light on thier experiences for me...saw a video where they transitioned from sand to water and back to sand....is this consistently do-able? or was it just for the promo?? am very curious to hear any responses... squidrun

  22. thanks for your replies guys... would love to get over to the east at some stage and check on some of those fine beaches..as for now its back to work for a few weeks, many many miles from the nearest beach, and the sand dunes here are not fluffy and white..theyr red and covered in spinifex!! got some good sessions with the 7m frenzy over the last week, learning what it can and cant do....got hoiked in the air a couple of times but i think i may try to steer away from that abit, the knees are too prescious! anyone here using back protectors from Dainese? im looking at a purchase and would be keen for some feedback.. take care, fly safe...
  23. good morning everyone, just a quick note to say hi and introduce myself.. a new member on this site, and am looking for people to fly with in the Perth-Bunbury-Lancelin areas of W.A. recently picked up an Ozone Frenzy 7.3 in tip-top conditon, and also have various size dual line stunt kites(2x3m, 1.8m) in need of some attention and $$ spent.. have not tried any of the buggy/landboard activities, but do love to bodysurf behind the 3m dual line, and recently had some good fun skimming on a body board in about 28knots....would be keen to do more of this!!!! at the moment am trying to get as much time on the Frenzy as i can to get familiar with it... if there is anyone out here who would like to catch up for a session or even to trade ideas, please feel free to say hi... regards squidrun
  24. nigel, cheers on the tip... gotta do a complete refit of all carbon on one kite before i look at trying this out..thanks again..
  25. cheers for the feedback lickedy, all input is highly regarded...to answer your question, yeh have got the concept of the bar sorted(power-on, power-off) but in practise it didnt really seem a whole heap different..as i said in original post though, i was at a suburban football oval with turbulence...will be looking for some clean beach flying in the next couple of days to see what the difference there is...as for asking someone for advice/help/input, thats kinda what im trying to organise through here...if an perth kiters are reading, i would really appreciate some input... ok, now for todays episode...... after sitting up literally all night reading throught the older forums, i got a couple of hours sleep just as the sun came up... woke just before ten and was out the door with all my kites by 10.30.... it was clear from the beginning that it was not a day for the frenzy, so i decided i would head up the coast and look do a reccy tour for future reference... ended up in Guilderton (Moore River) and to say it was blowing its tit off would be a fair call.... found a few good spots for future outings in better weather, had some lunch and then headed on to Lancelin... ok now this is where my day took a turn for the better...got a ride with some 'lations to a spot just north of town on the beach, no-one around and wind was howling (BOM says S/SW winds 20/30 knots shifting S/SE 20/30 knots overnight ). had four of my young cousins with me and they were all out for a swim, while i set up my smallest stunt kite, 1.8m and sussed out the wind for ten to fifteen minutes before landing... really good flying for a small kite, ultra quick with awesome response... next was a 3m delta on 300lb lines, lovely pulling power and with a few more than a few years practice on this baby, was quite confident to go hard...got in the water and bodysurfed for a good 800m north before getting out and walking back up the beach...cousins had bodyboards with them, so i pinched one and for the first time, sat on it and rode the area where the water meets the sand, skimming along at quite a pace and loving it!! about the same 800m run before, walking it back up the beach again to repeat...turned out to be about a 1.5hr session, havent had that much fun in a very long time.... have just got back to joondalup now at 10pm, and am totattly shattered....so much for a quiet coffee run, and reccy run!! my brain is ticking over on ways to alter my bodyboard, and am thinking how nice it will be to get my head around the frenzy and take it for swim...yes i know its not an inflatable, but hey im sure it will happen before the end of this summer!! now for a question, im after some advice on stacking stunt kites.... i have two 3m the same model,(unsure of the name) from High-As-A-Kite, anyone here stacking kites of this size??? would love to pick your brain if this is something you know abit about.... well sleep is calling, and im sure my dreams are gonna be full on, so im not gonna hesitate any longer.. bye for now!
