Thanx for the tips Chris, I'm a complete noob on a board, never even owned a skateboard. I've been down to the Pilgrim Fathers Memorial picnic site a couple of times with it, there's quite a decent grassy bank for board-only practice. I managed to stay on (mostly) but the kids are lovin' it, like ducks to water. I guess boards are cooler than buggies?

Put the Euros Trax on the AS rims tonight....wide or what...lol I love em

Shoulda come to the beach mate

got set up by 4.30 and wind was tame so trundled off south and it started to pick up to around 12. Got to south Mable and there's a hookin great metal pipe sucking sand ashore so parked the kite n dragged the bug over - then carried on.

By 5.45 I got to Chapel St Leonards and then got sucked into the soft stuff as my friends the fisherman had their rods set up about 100 m from the sea - great! Sat and thought - uh-oh, if the wind drops now its a hell of a walk back, so turned round. Wind came to around 15 to 17 so managed top 20's through the upper beach and was back at the metal pipe in 30 mins. Lady security guard came out and said "yer can't take yer buggy over the pipe - there's sinking sand in places" I offered her a ride (and a go in the buggy.......lol) and she let me pull the buggy over and carry on.

Got back to North End and met "Slide" from Norfolk area who is here for the weekend - he was landboarding with a large Blade and putting in some neat moves. By now the wind was about 15 to 20 so spent the rest of the time to 8.30 at Mable and got up to 34.7 max. Did just over 50 miles in total.

Not so windy as the other night but better than I was expecting

Chris - thanks for the offer - will be pleased to have any advice on how to move on a board without doing self an injury.

Supposed to be going to Skeg Fest tomorrow but forecast looks u/s. Went last year and it was a good event so hope it turns out better weather than they say. Anyone else there Sat?

Hi again Sam - how's it going? Have you tried that buggy out yet or still getting used to the kite. :p

I went down to Skeg today with the wife and kids - had a fly on the Frenzy and Max had a go on the 3.5 bullet. Glad you tried out some of the other kites. I was flying at Mable last night and earlier this week with Popeye the Welder. Keep checking this thread if you want an idea of when folk are going - we usually get excited when the onshore winds are forecast and find out who's going where and when.

Anyone into fishing?

While down at the kite fest we spotted 3 or more large fish close to the coast line. They were breaking the surface at regular intervals and had a large fin on the back - generally looked black or dark in colour. Reckon the body of the fish must have been at least a foot deep so I guess the fish must have been quite long.

Anyone know what they were?

Were they breaking in an arch, not like dolphins do but slightly simmilar? They could have been the smaller pourpous(Sp?) they are mammals and a common sight on the cost, i've seen them. Was it a pod?

Yeah - they were all breaking in an arch and size wise, at first glance we thought they were seals, but the shape was all wrong and then the fin was clearly in view. They came within about 40ft of the beach at the closest

Sam - I'll send you a pm next time heading for Mable. However, when the grockles (holidaymakers) arrive I may go down to the Boygrift to fly, just south of Sandilands. It's usually not so busy in the summer

Well it looks like i will have to change my sig to a slightly tarnished home made bug, don't think i could get it to shine like carl's even if i spent 100 hours polishing it! Looks good mate it will be a shame to get it dirty at the beach. A quick cruse through capachino creek would do the job.

Carl.....have you had a spare bit of time on your hands this weekend...7 hours polishing then to make a video of your polishing.....

Looks good though....!!!!!
