jhn.holgate Posted May 25, 2015 Report Posted May 25, 2015 A new chapter of creative obstacle courses perhaps?.... Quote
ssayre Posted May 25, 2015 Author Report Posted May 25, 2015 Yes John, I welcome obstacles except cars. I was on the road to the school and people are very reluctant to go around me for some reason. I will be on the edge of the road with kite off the road and they will still stop. I have to get completely off the road before they pass. I can't tell if they stop to observe or if my presence is an annoyance. Maybe a little of both. Quote
ssayre Posted May 31, 2015 Author Report Posted May 31, 2015 Winds 8-15 and flown with handles and 5m lines. The peak smooths out the lumps nicely. Quote
agriarte Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Nice spot for kitelongboard. No mountains neither big obstacles near. Congratulations, You have good level with the longboard. Much better than me I usually fly with 5 or 10m. I can only fly in the mode streetkite (just bar, no lines) close to the sea where the wind is very clean Quote
Moroni-10 Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 Enjoyed the vids and post, keep on truckin. I love boarding ' no lines' with my trusty old 5.3m NPW9. Bigger Nasa works better with no lines, ..more stable. Had a 7.6m and that was sweet straight on the bar but for a total thigh workout my 15m NPW9 ruled in low winds straight from bridle to bar. I only fly on a two line bar, no brakes. ( look for my pic on my first post on here.) Quote
Moroni-10 Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 Totally motivated to get out and fly. Keep the chillin vids coming. Nice empty car parks and roads ...with square on winds so you can go back up the road...nice Quote

Nice empty car parks and roads ...with square on winds so you can go back up the road...nice Thanks man! Great picture landboarding with the npw on no lines. I don't connect a leash or kite killer to the third line on my set up so I'm essentially flying 2 line as well. Quote
Moroni-10 Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 When the wind is strong I have a leash connected to one side so it just colllapses the kite if I let go of the bar, the strop also has a QR when hooked in Quote
ssayre Posted February 1, 2016 Author Report Posted February 1, 2016 Can't wait to play with my hairy sack. Seriously, that's what it's called. Got a free slide - heavy Hairy Sack to dial in my new longboard ride. Just got a Diamond Drop Apex 40 longboard that's a maple / carbon fiber construction. Got it used so I got the new bushings to dial it in. Quote
plummet Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 Hey Ssayre. Thought yourd like to see my line up of liongboards!.. ... My favourite beach the lowered drop. I went out the other day on my 12 chrono on the longboard in about 10-12 knots. Needless to say it was a little silly. agriarte and ssayre 2 Quote
ssayre Posted February 1, 2016 Author Report Posted February 1, 2016 That's cool @plummet. Do you make your boards? Is that carbon fiber on the bottom one? I've got 2 now and all I need to complete the quiver is some sort of short carver. And maybe a board for pool / park riding. Quote
plummet Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 Yep all those boards are made by me. In fact I was making longboards before i started kiting!.... The lowered drop is indeed carbon skinned top and bottom with some funky carbon stringers. I made it in 2006 and its still my favourite board. It just feels right. The wheelbase, flex, height concave.... all excellent. When i jump on anything else, even my own other boards they just don't feel right! ssayre 1 Quote
ssayre Posted February 1, 2016 Author Report Posted February 1, 2016 i really wanted to get into making boards but there is an abundance of good longboards in my area that sell for dirt cheap on the used market and I'm getting a complete board as well. That is one sweet looking board you made. I wouldn't find that one around here. Quote

Mfwetu Posted February 2, 2016 Report Posted February 2, 2016 Those are great, your kids must love them Quote
ssayre Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 Wow, that looks fantastic @plummet. The graphics look perfect. Quote
plummet Posted February 2, 2016 Report Posted February 2, 2016 My kids are like. "That's what dads do... make longboards..." To them its normal. They don't know a life of non longboard manufacture! I can't take all the credit for the paint job. I do the spray, airbrush, and the missis does the fine detail by hand. The paitn job takes about 1 month on and off. SoutherlyBuster 1 Quote
ssayre Posted February 10, 2016 Author Report Posted February 10, 2016 New member of the family. This one is short and very carvy. Shown with soft wheels and will have hard wheels for ramp riding. I broke my old board yesterday. The one pictured in the middle. It's a sickness at this point plummet 1 Quote

It's a sickness at this point I'm afraid to say the at only 3 boards you haven't reached "sickness" status yet! Surely you need at least 5 boards or more...... Wait. I have more than 5 boards. Oh well its a healthy sickness. Quote

That was one creepy little dude. The latest Mad Max Thunder Road is a GREAT movie by the way. Best in the series after #2, Road Warrior. First one was good too, but I always thought Road Warrior set the high water mark. Best part about Thunderdome was the phrase "Two men enter, one man leave!" Quote
ssayre Posted February 12, 2016 Author Report Posted February 12, 2016 That's exactly what that graphic is suppose to be. Funny thing is the shop I bought it at and myself knew we recognized the graphic but couldn't place it. glad I posted to solve the mystery. @plummet it's not a sickness because I have 3 boards. It's a sickness because at this stage I know that there will be many more to follow. I wasn't expecting this deviation from wanting kites. This Saturday I'm meeting a group of guys of similar middle age at a skatepark one of them owns for a "old man sesh" as it's known I guess. The board in the middle I broke recently and the apex in the right is for sale. It will be to fund another skateboard and 1 pintail deck to pair with my now homeless sidewinder trucks. So I'm technically down to 1 board. jhn.holgate and SoutherlyBuster 2 Quote
