jdhot Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 Crazy, Have fun mate, I have to work unfortunately, the woes of running your own business and the tides are quite right for most of us buggy guys to go down next week the tides are a lot lower and hopefully the wind and rain might co-operate Cheers JD Quote
buggy boy Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 Hi Crazy, the wind direction looks promising for tomorrow, you should be able to get a decent run in at seven mile. I am heading up to Stockton tomorrow for a few days, hoping for a run in the buggy. It looks like the wind is only going to be South to South easterly tomorrow and Sunday. By mid week when the tides are at their lowest the winds will have turned N East which aren't ideal. Cheers Matt. Quote
BobM Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 I was quite shocked at the amount of erosion at this beach - particularly at the southern end near the rock wall. I'm in the middle of a new kitchen, so I'll be stuck inside painting and moving furniture. Let us know what you think of the condition of the beach and I might be convinced to dust out the cobwebs. jdhot Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 I was quite shocked at the amount of erosion at this beach - particularly at the southern end near the rock wall. Paul was telling me a couple of weeks back the old river mouth had broken through and we have lost a few k's of beach now on the southern tip. I am heading up to Stockton tomorrow for a few days, hoping for a run in the buggy. Hey Matt can you try and find out if the front dunes and main dunes are open again, as I was told due to severe erosion earlier this year that everything except the beach was off limits, would luv to hit those dunes again. @Crazy, hit the Gerroa end of the beach for a southerly wind, sometimes with southerly they turn SWesterly along the beach, Hope it works out ok for you. Cheers JD Quote
buggy boy Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 Hi JD! If I find out anything about dune restrictions I will certainly let you know. It's a shame if they aren't permitted ,given a buggy with wide tyres rolls over the sand doing less damage than someone walking ,which is most likely permitted. Its a bit hard to be discreet with a kite 25 metres in the air advertising your whereabouts my plan is to stay on the main Beach so it shouldn't be an issue Quote
