tszy Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 I have to say that my Blade IV's are my main choice for static and buggying - excellent kites. I tried out the 4.5m and 6.0m PKD Century II's on Friday - I found them a bit reluctant to launch or land [ even trickier than the Combats ] once up though, they performed OK. In higher winds i buggy with my PKD Century Soulfly 2.5m or the 1.8m which are fun to fly. Quote
tattooman Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 go for a mk2 blade they are mental!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Lynnlad Posted August 3, 2010 Author Report Posted August 3, 2010 mk 2, thats the one im actually staying clear off. Quote
noggin Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 I love my MkII 4.9m, but does still scare me at times!! Lol Quote
RedSky Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) Do you want to live forever ? MkII all the way. 7.8 on a 4 line bar and harness is the greatest foil in a heavy bug, ever. For sheer white knuckle extreme experience in 18mph onshore there's no better. It's a secret, so don't tell anyone. Don't sell out and get a Blurr, it's nothing to a Blade. - Hides behind sofa smiley. Edited August 3, 2010 by redskyhorizon Quote
kite monkey Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 hi the mk2 4.9 blade is awsome if you show it respect it will lift and pull like a train in the right wind but dont show respect and you will soon see why its called the widdow maker im 16st and its pulled me @47mph in the buggy (felt like 100)and lifted 25-35ft in the air (shat my self)and landed nicely so go for the mk2, ps only had a short flights with mk4 and mk5 so it would be wrong of me to give advise on them Quote

Lean back and show that kite whos boss, ya pussies! damn right on a board, not so easy in a buggy, you try and stop using a blade without being lifted out of the buggy, expiranced buggiers only need apply Quote

kev1n Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 i still think you should of hit the sand castle kev that would of stopped you seriously need to learn how to stop quickly, the prob was the kite locks in and releasing it quickly is an issue woops i think we are hijacking the thread Quote
XyOnGTE Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 meh its only people bitching and moaning about blades, if you know the wind speed and what your are comfortable holding on to them, then they are lovely just people need to grow a pair. Quote

Lynnlad Posted August 7, 2010 Author Report Posted August 7, 2010 managed to get my 1st air time on the 4m bladeIII tonight. approx 15mph winds. Never tried jumping recreational but enjoyed the feeling... just need to know how i did it know!! :-) Quote
smackay116 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Yes and ? Its kind of boreing hearing how you cant buggy with blades. Iv jumped with my 4m lots and just starting with the 6.5 but the hangtime with the 6.5 is insain. Quote
Lynnlad Posted August 15, 2010 Author Report Posted August 15, 2010 Well hopefully have a blade III 6.6 in the collection by the weekend or just after. :-) (just as the evenings starting to come in- typical) Im probably going to add the AAA kit to make it more versatile, this a good move? Quote
Squarehead666 Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 I've finally succumbed to the inevitable.....A 4.9m Blade III is on the way, I'm hoping to get it for next weekend as we are off on another expedition! FWIW & All the best Andy S. Quote
Squarehead666 Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 (edited) It's arrived and the Met Office claim we're going to be getting a steady 13mph this evening! It's blowing 20mph+ gusts right now, so call me a coward if you will, but it's grounded for the time being. Hopefully I shall be getting dragged around by it before sunset.....The Met Office are notorious liars however, so I shall believe it when I feel it! FWIW & All the best Andy S. Lynnlad Posted September 14, 2010 Author Report Posted September 14, 2010 Just to conclude i got the 6.6 with AAA and love it. Im buggying with it and there is so much power when wanted, but its stable and so predictable its very nice. Also added a recreatoional aspect to my kiting, minimal fuss me and kite scudding and getting air. Brilliant buy. Quote
