Tim here out of hibernation yeah i've been bogged down with work and what with the late hours i do and the fact that it gets dark or did by 4 in the afternoon i had no time to kite but now its starting to get lighter and its getting closer to summer.
I can see the trips to the coast becoming a bit more frequent and we have been down the 7's over the last 2 weeks had to good little plays with the kites and got back into it got 25mph and 23mph on the both days so still haven't lost the bug to much just been too busy with work.
you all know the saying all work and no play!
was that a casual bump to the thread kev? haha sorry ive not been around been either busy with TA or life, just street lined infront of the queen today she was like a metre and half away from me and then at one point could of basically touched her!. was a humbling experience. but yeah im god cheers yourself?
im addicted too it or was anyway best thing i enjoyed trying to do was the 404 challenge, i pretty much completed it xD
i made a tree grow underground, i got ot the neather region had underground swimming pool well above my tree xD a lounage the lot then got bored of it and started to dig to the surface and made a massive water slide xD
we caught the last bit of it completely died down at 8 struggling to keep kites up went out about 6ish had to keep upgrading kites as it got worse and worse
still waiting for a half decent day to try the venom in, had one day but was stupidly over powered and just ended up hurting myself but did get some good jumps
that sounds top notch kev , this land boarding melarky seems to have me hooked at the moment still no good at it but seems alot more fun than buggying unless your on a beach!
well i dont really have landboard kites, no depowers or LEI's so its a choice of a 3m flo 3.5m rage 4m blade or a 6m cent 2?, have found the cent trys to kill me very often.
hmmm yeah ive been out tonight blasting up and down wasnt realy the best conditions, either no wind or shit loads 6m pkd century 2 going at 17 18mph crapping myself then just plucked me into the sky and came down in a thump haha, but was the fastest ive been even managed 2 powerslides out of about the 40 or 50 i tryed.
Im slowly making a transition from buggying to landboarding, be as it may i am finding it fairly easy except a few hiccups that im hoping you guys can clear up.
1) To powerslide can you do this on grass, i can do it confidently on sand but if i try on grass i seem to just grip too much and it either throws me off forwards or i lean to far backwards and just land on my ass?.
The tyres are pretty much brand new on the board still got the rubber spikes sticking off the tyres does this affect it on grass or is it just my techinque?
2) What am i mean to do as i fly inland most of the time wen the kite luffs do i just turn downwind and wait for the kite to power back up and then steer back to my course?
3) What is my next thing to start learning riding toeside?
any advice is welcomed cheers ( fly fixed bridles on handles)
