Personally I like skis with as big radius as possible ( fast and doesen't cut in to the snow when leaning), secondly if you do snowkiting or kitewing riding a lot it might good to consider two pairs of skis, one for really hard ground ( ice) and one for very soft snow. Remeber also that fresh snow might be stickier than sand so even phat skis might not help. Also the fatter skis you have, the harder they are to turn, so you should be an experienced skier for them. Kitewing rider Patrick Blom uses three different skis, Head Moster IM 85 ( with telemark bindings), HEAD MAD TRIX for hard surface and Head mad trix mojo for soft surface. Heard from him that the MOJO's was mostly used last winter. By the way there is a short video of him riding in HEAD's webpages! ( http://www.head.com/ski/411_ENG_HTML.php)
Old grand slalom works very good on hard surface and costs next to nothing, very popular among kitewing racers!
