  1. You MAY get a good deal if you use trick of the eye kites. VAT may be added. Depends whether you like a gamble.
  2. ATB mag is downhill if you fancy reading about that too.
  3. Go mad, you chould look to 80s skate decks for some inspiration. Some of the old designs were sweet - try a non-smooth edge like the old psycho stick or something (have one on my wall) http://www.streetboardz.com/noname37.html As for grab handle not sure, but you will presumably be drilling for bindings anyway.

I have two Semnoz DVDs and they are well worth it.
  5. Just booked this morning for courchevel for early Feb and have also been told there is nowhere suitable. Lads holiady in Geilo planned though so not too worried!
  6. link on front page of their site
  7. Nice one, thanks guys - all is now clear.
  8. I haven't got my harness with me so can't experiment with it, but how does the new donkey doo da fit to the spreader bar?
  9. I have just unpacked mine which arrived today, the grey and white looks really good - kind of understated. I like all of the colours this year.
  10. I use dainese body armour for downhill and tried it once kiting and it felt awkward with my seat harness. Dainese do a set with a shorter back plate which looks like it might solve this, think it's called multisport or something.
  11. Just a thought, but depending on what you end up liking downhill, you may get to the point where you don't like the skate trucks. If you just want to do freestyle then ok, but if you want to freeride, faster runs, boardercross etc. you're almost certainly going to want channels. If you went the trampa route, which is a good idea, the deck would be specific to skate trucks. May be worth borrowing a board with channels for some down hill runs if you haven't already.
  12. I've bitten the bullet and after wasting most of today deliberating I've just ordered an 06. In lovely grey if anyone is interested.
  13. I have to some extent - put off the Peter Lynns because of the launch / land issues. Have never had a chance to try a flysurfer or viokite. Which models would be worth considering among those two brands (reasonable lift and good for the snow being priorities.)
  14. is there much difference between the 05 and 06 from what people have experienced so far?
  15. Hi I have an 04 Frenzy 9.5 and I am tempted to updgrade to the 06 10m. I haven't exhausted the potential of the 04 by any means as I'm not that good yet. However, the upgrade makes sense I think as firstly, I was considering upgrading to the newer bar to get the better primary safety system and secondly, I fly at crappy sites quite a lot and my technique isn't perfect so I do find I suffer with the wing tips folding. (thirdly it would be a lovely new toy;).) By selling the 04 and a perhaps one or two other kites I don't use much I would not have to dip into my own pocket. Should I upgrade? Do those that have flown the new version think it handles turbulent conditions significantly better? I have flown a sabre which seems to handle these conditions better for example. Will be used for landboarding and snowkiting. Thanks. Mike
  16. Depends how lardy or otherwise you are. I am only 5 ft 8 and a bit, but for freeride I use a 165 cos of my stupendous belly. I have a 159 for park and messing about. Will be snow kiting in Geilo for first time and suspect both will get used depending upon depth of snow - 159 is symetrical and 165 has a bias.
  17. Well done - I moved to the area, went to Richmond Park once or twice and a couple of weeks later the ban came in. Nice work guys, sounds like huge effort went into this.
  18. I took my frenzies and my blade out last year and didn't get any wind. Only there 10 days though. Still, had a mid week dump of snow and blue skies the rest of the time so I guess I shouldn't moan.
  19. Frenzy 10m 05 or 9.5 04 worth considering if you go down the depower route. I love my 9.5 and it gets used way more than any other kite. Sabre's are great kites too.
  20. I had been floundering the mid 11,000s for a while - I took ten days off due to work trips. And then Tuesday and yesterday did loads of reps of weights working my arms (I never normally do weights) and then yesterday night got 6 scores above my previous record more or less in a row and I'm finally over 12,000 at 12400 ish. Adrenal1n you were absolutely right about my wrist (this was a couple of months ago) hasn't been giving me any of my normal aches and pains and I have landed on it moutaninboarding without the normal week of agony afterwards.
  21. Closing in on 12k but think I was so weak and puny prior to this that it is taking me a while. I'm on 11.5k now. My forearm is a totally different shape. I wish they made an addictive gadget that could get rid of my gut.
  22. I was planning on going to Camber, saw the messages on here and went to Greatstone instead. It's a two hour drive for me to either site. It was really wet and not great for boarding anywhere we went at Greatstone, but we thought we were doing the right thing and had a bit of fun.
  23. Skateboarded from about 11 on and off. Now mostly skate to get around and the odd play. Took up wakeboarding in its early days and have done it ever since but lack of time on the water means I have never got that good. Snowboarded for about the last ten years, mountainboarded for the past two (and enjoy this most of all) and now very much a beginner with a kiteboard.
  24. Nice work! Fingers crossed that everything stays on track and your hard work pays off. Mike
  25. Have hit the wall trying to get over 11,000 now...so frustrating but totally addictive.
