Easily explainable this is. The kites on the continent are left-hand drive where as the kites for the UK market have to be specially modified to right-hand drive, hence the extra cost
If you're needing a new watch, shell out a few extra pennies on a Timex Ironman. I use mine when I'm out running for pacing purposes, but it also works for straight speed calculations. You just have a little GPS receiver strapped to your arm or leg.
Coastguard gave me an equally good deal - Bullet 3.5, Libre Special Buggy, all pads, helmet, harness and strop for £560. Spent nearly a month stealth viewing the forums as to what was the best for a beginner as well as many days on Ainsdale beach asking questions. Well done Phil at Coastguard, just waiting for the package to arrive :p
