  2. Hows about a gale of buggies
  3. I've got a couple of vipers and they are decent kites. farty noise is a tad annoying but if you get a fullface helmet you can only just hear it. Plenty pull & easy to fly tough as old boots to. enjoy em. adios:cool:

Iv got 8.5's on my vmax & i think they are great. Look well meaty! dunno how fasy you guys are going (my best 46mph) but I havnt suffered any excessive speed wobble. Owch just got a set of massive slicks, havnt had a proper go in it yet but it didnt look to be massivly different grip & stability wise. Go for the 8.5's you'll only regret it if you wuss out & go with the 6.5's Adios fettler
  5. Thats what its all about mate! Steer into it and keep the power on! Youre right about keeping it high to stop the slide but be careful taking it to far will have you up & out fatser than you can say "oh sh*t" Practicing in little winds did me the world of good, it teaches you where and what position to put your kite to get power. So you also get to learn the have a minute places, where the power is right down. So thats my top tip for you. Its such a quality feeling when you can maintain a slide for a good while or when you can blast along at a proper rate. Thats where windy days come in! Good luck with it mate. Rock on:cool:
  6. vipers kick ass. Got me a 4 & a 6.5 The phrase bit of a handful is the only way to describe em when its windy!
  7. there is your answer!
  8. Getting numbers (speed etc) is a nightmare to do! i got an etrex legend. write a wee bit of code to grab the data from the com port that its plugged into and set the output of ur gps to text (menu, setup, interface) (remember to change it back to Garmin if u r using it with autoroute of simmilar). The software thats out in cyberspace is really for uploading maps etc to the unit rather than taking stats from it. however taking tracks waypoints & routes is dead simple metroguide & mapsource (ye olde world map program before metroguide got so damn good) set the output to Garmin & plug it in. away you go. I still love mine however. in fact i wouldnt be without it. Long live GPS!!!
  9. breaking buggies down is so disheartining. i got a vmax that doesnt fit in my car (im searching for a knackered rusty pickup of some sorts) taking it to bits scratches the finish, takes ages & is all round not great! I rekon you could make something to clip it to your seatpost. I dont think the flexi buggies break down into bits that are small enough to fit in a bag all that well. As for buggying on common land i dunno, but you deffo should get some sort of insurance. There are tons of threads on here about insurance but the bbc insurance covers you for pretty much anywhere and its nice & cheep! Good luck with the buggying mate, you'll love it fettler
  10. im 6'5 and the vmax (swan neck) is about as far as it can go and its just perfect. Buy one you'll love it
  11. FGB's Feevin Gypo Ba5tards grrrrr
  12. Parapacking Ra Ra Ra. Miles quicker than anything else. Great for me a righty & owch & rocky lefties so with the para no tangles. & its quicker, easier, more reliable & much cooler. Get with the parapacking
  13. Get one of Rayens they are coooooooooool. Way better than the dirt X ones. They are proper moto x helmets. Quick delivery, they come with a little bag to stop em gatting all sandy & they are instantly recognisable. I went for a black & silver one & im lovin it. fettler:cool: As above it is important to maintain a high lusture & sheen on ones helmet, the bag comes in handy for this, but you cant beat giving it a good ol' buff for that showroom shine http://www.mark-tighe.co.uk/space/helmet.jpg
  14. I'd say this is about the most helpfull kite related site ever in the entire history of time. If it aint on here, someone will post a link to the site in question. Get em on here. End of the I love flexifoil.com broadcast
  15. I can back up the bunny on the quality of Black Gold. It is some sticky slippery stuff. I hear that mayonase mixed with gentlemens relish & andrews liver salts in approx 33% doses with the final 1% of gnats pi55 is however the unlimate answer to your lubrication questions. Failing those try a bit of 3 in 1 penetrating oil & dont forget to hose your buggy down after any particulally sandy/wet adventures. Good luck young jedi & may the force be with you fettler:cool:
  16. the rear steer is the way forward, its neck snappingly quick, so come on all you engineers, get engineering
  17. IMHO, pump your tyres up nice & hard, change your bearings when no matter how much oiling they still grind. Remember its only a laugh. Dont take it to seriously. Just enjoy the beast, she'll let you know when she needs care & attention mostly however they want a good spanking
  18. Oh well at least i'll be able to enter the next one, my 2 kite buddies are both working & now i'vew got no excuse to not goto Wales for the weekend. grrrrr. 11 days til Black Monday:mad: Hopefully it wont be for long though. Good luck to all you racers out there & I'll chat to my man who looks after the weather for you all. Adios
  19. What you need to do is get to a beach, get that 3.5 bullet out and it'll all come naturally (sp?) good luck dude
  20. yeah im liking that!
  21. I use the lanyard that comes with it & a length of string to lash it to my downtube. It seems to work fine for me, but im looking for a more perminant solution aswell. Good luck
  22. mine is a skateboard helmet. Im not a racer or anything like that. Just like a bit of zooming. I've got a big head so my problem is the helmet having to be jammed on my head, not it slipping down. Whatever you do buy one. The face ones do look mean though mine looks a bit like a pudding bowl, still itll save my bonce so thats all that counts. Good luck dude
  23. yeah good work.
  24. hows about a fixed axle, with a moving end section (and a fat wheel) like a car link the two wheels together........Ahh way to complex. Rear wheel steering. Thats the way forward. But linkages hmmm. I tell you what im just gonna forget the whole idea and ride my vmax backwards. I believe someone may have suggested this 4 pages ago. Then the cry came forth from the dolphins, so long & thankis for all the fish.
  25. I've only just seen the pics from back in the day. It seems like my radical new approach & out of the box thinking has already been abandoned as a bad idea. Seems to have started something of a discussion though so thats good. Now i've just got to get the idea of building on out of my mind........
