  1. Hey Carl - long time no see. How are you all/Ainsdale these days..?? Andy.
  2. Thank-you thank-you.......at last a nice Ainsdale thread. Hope you foot gets better Graham, I did a similar thing last year and took a big fall and couldn't walk for about 2 months...!!!! Hoping to get down to Ainsdale soon as i sort of miss the place..
  3. Just found this thread looking lost on page 3......!!!!!! Were you all attached to that 14.4m Blade stack.... Hope everybody is well.
  4. Thanks to this guy (several guy's) a load of my friends now know what I'm going on about and want me to take them out to try it..... :D ....great publicity....my mum however is now more worried...bless..
  5. I've just got a Dakine XT with hammer head bar and pad from Airbossworld...fantastic harness and sooooo comfy. Well worth the money...but as always you get what you pay for...
  6. Kitefreek - is current maths teaching so poor you don't know fractions...or how to spell or type for that matter.... ...the youth of today are tommorrows doctors, how scary is that...??? LOL...
  7. I had this conversation with Gary from http://www.airbossworld.co.uk last week. Projected sizes are in the main PL catalogue which only shops seem to get...the one that stood out was the 15m Guerilla 2 has a projected area of 10m as he commented that it was exactly 2/3's. Give Gary a call if you need more info.....tell him to get some black Dakine XT's in while your at it too...!!!!!
  8. Sky-Blu.....how do you rate the 7.3m Frenzy04...?? Keep getting told to go for the 9.5 but I'm sure the 7.3 has plenty of power..!! Any advice gratefull recieved. Cheers...
  9. Have a look at my thread from last week about harnesses..(bottom of page 3 now)..I'm finally getting a Dakine XP seat harness. Loads of info in the thread. Don't know how to attach a link - sorry..!!
  10. Spooky - thank you very much for the time you have put in to your reply....!!!! Very useful and informative.....I think it covers everything... Nothing else to say. Cheers.
  11. BonzaOzzy - Are you going to get one then...?? Fire Exit - I use mine all the time so definately doesn't get used any less, if you have one you use it, but like I said originally it isn't a must have bit of kit, just another toy....
  12. Mattupper - I'll have a look.... Sonicseal - The Dark Rider looks the dogs cahoona's too and seems to come with the spreader bar (hook) and spreader protector so although it costs a bit more you are getting more with it. Is the spreader bar changeable..?? For example if a roller bar worked better can one be put on..?? I take it you find it very comfortable....and the small seat stops it giving you 'man boobs' but is still very secure..?? Steve - will be heading down to Airboss next week...the chance to try them all on is just too irresistable...thanks for the link. Cheers again.
  13. Just boards...sometimes get to 'borrow' mates buggies though. As for kites see bag below. Steve - thanks loads...very useful info...
  14. Cheers guys - this is really useful....seat it is then. OK one more question - any thoughts on either the 'Hook' type or 'Roller' type spreader..??
  15. I got one purely because I like gadgets....Kestrel 2000...expensive but who cares. It certainly isn't a "must have" but it is quite handy and you can get much cheaper ones. Funny when people say 'it's blowing at least 25-30MPH' then you get out a windmeter to find it is actually only 14-15MPH. Practice with your kites and getting used to them is a far better way of learning. If you have spare money and like toys then get one, but if it is a choice between a new kite and a windmeter then get the kite...!!!
  16. Been looking at the Maui Magic Dark Rider (as a starter)....any pro's and con's to either the Waist only and the Waist/Seat versions...?? Both the same price. Aviator is the next to look at on the list but just wanted to clear this up first.....it is for land use only if that helps...
  17. he he he..... ....Cheers Gary....you see this little spider's been sleeping there and I didn't want to wake him (or her) so have to wait till it moves out...!!!! Couple of pints of Guinness eh....I'll get my people to talk to your people and see what happens..... I will see you soon - promise. Cheers to everybody else - I have a lot of internet surfing to do now....
  18. Cheers guys....I'll look into them both.
  19. As the thread suggests can anybody recommend a decent harness....I have a cheap Quadrafoil one but obviously it's about time I got something much better... Any suggestions please. Thanks.
  20. Jamo - I went for the MBS Core 16 after lots of looking and trying out of different boards. It is a fantastic board, lots of pop, very light, cruises like a dream and looks great. You won't be disapointed at all. I have the springs on the outer setting and tightened down about 3/4 but thinking of getting the harder compound 'eggs'. have fun with whatever you buy anyway. What kites do you have anyway..??
  21. Danny - I don't see what your problem is with the threads. Flexi give you the option to sort threads so are you sorting by "No. of views" or "last post time" you can also sort threads by anything from the "last 2 days" upto a "year". The system doesn't get slow and if you sort by the "last post date" all you will see are the current in use threads. All threads which are no longer in use are naturally put at the back of the list. Your poll makes no sense either - both options are the same...!!!! Either delete long threads or delete long threads after a while.... As Rasga said with some threads, like manchester, that is our clubs history. Each to there own I suppose. This reply will of course keep the thread on the first page - now at the top...!!!! So am I clogging up the system which is what your against...???
  22. In the instructions which come with the MBS it says to put your feet in at an angle then turn your foot so the toes face forwards so you are 'locked' in. As iancl says the bindings themselves shouldn't be tight, your feet should be able to move in them. It is personal preference as to how you stand on a board but you don't have to stand with your feet pointing out like a duck...!!!! Hope this makes sense.
  23. Tim - I have a MBS Core 16 which is fantastic... ...it's in the price range you want, looks cool, rides like a dream, has the latest trucks, is very light, and MBS are the original off road board makers. Basically you won't be dissapointed. Go for the Core 16.
  24. I've got a Kestrel 2000 which is very good if a little pricey at £100ish. Gives all the usual speed in any variant you would ever need to know (MPH, Knots, etc etc), average, highest, and also gives temperature and therefore wind chill for the cold days ahead - pointless but it gives it something else to do....!!!! They also do a basic model and some more advanced versions too. Expensive but acurate - as in life you get what you pay for. I only got one because I like gadgets.... Have fun.
  25. Kite killers are essential. They take 10 seconds to put on, don't get in the way no matter what your doing - boarding, buggying, etc and make the area safe for everybody near by, which in turn gives the councils less reason to ban us safe kite flyers....!!!!! If you have them use them, if not get some. Rant over.
