YOU are NOT alone!! I live in Phoenix, AZ and I have been buggying for about 5 years. Mostly alone. You need to go to NABX the first week of April, it is like Mecca for buggiers in North America, that precious rock for a crakho, the ring for gollum, you get the idea... The point is there are more of us and we are as anxious to meet you as you are to meet us! Go here:
http://www.nabx.net/
and register, you will be amazed to see so many kites in the sky. You can camp on the lakebed, or you can stay at a nice hotel just a 5 minute drive from "Buggytown" I am attending the pre-event also, which makes it a 9 day buggy retreat/sabbatical for me. I usually camp mostly and stay just a night or 2 in the hotels to scrub off a layer of dirt. You wont believe how fast the hard surface is, and your kite skills will improve a lot just from being around other buggiers. You owe yourself this!!
