  1. Are you referring to the Viper? Details at http://www.peterlynnproducts.com/.
  2. Yes, and make sure to video it too.
  3. If you had a 5 metre pole in the middle of a field and you were overpowered with your kite, could you walk up the pole (think 1960's TV Batman) and leap from the top. If you could would you prefer handles or a bar?
  4. The other day I had a kite killer break (it was home made). When it did the handle shot across the field (about 20 metres) at serious speed. Fortunately there wasn't anyone over that way. I remembered someone saying that releasing one handle was an acceptable replacement for kite killers. Does anyone really do this? It seems seriously dangerous.
  5. That was an enjoyable watch. Good job Gizmo.
  6. I don't think there are measurements but there is an explanation of how to attach a strop and a photo. http://community.flexifoil.com/showthread.php?t=140289
  7. All those vids and nobody includes the collisions? Here I was thinking that the crowded conditions made all of you excel in collision avoidance.
  8. Every time I watch your videos from these big events I always wonder how it is you divvy up the available space. How is it there aren't more collisions?
  9. Very enjoyable video. Good work Maro.
  10. Looks like fun. I must get to the snow some time.
  11. The location where this took place is a popular tourist bus stop. I have had my photo taken on a number of occasions. Mostly from a distance. No tourists have asked to borrow or rent anything (yet). Perhaps that would be a good side business. Charge them the cost to replace the kit and if they don't break it you are sweet.
  12. I must go back to school. The NZ government has made student loans 0% interest. (Yes, I know that is really stupid. It was an election year.)
  13. Have you ever gone out for a session and spent more time talking to people about flying your kite rather than flying it? I just had a session like that. Don't get me wrong, they were friendly people, but I came to fly. The first fellow was a fellow flyer without a kite and helpfully pointed out that if I just went over that way (pointing a knowing finger) I would have much smoother wind. He was probably right, but like most people I don't like being told what I should do. The second fellow was a real nutter. Gave me his dad's phone number and told me I should call him because he had designed these really neat kite flying contraptions. At one point when I finally got the kite in the air he decided to 'help' me apply the brakes by grabbing the handles and pulling on them! I suggested that wasn't a very good idea and he eventually went back to join his friends. I think it was an outing from the local sanatorium. If anyone is interested in his dad's phone number, let me know. It seems he has invented a system to fly a kite while riding on a surfboard. He should patent that. I think it would be popular.
  14. I believe it is just to give him additional weight (He is not a big guy.) and thus stability at high speeds. His top speed is reported as: 101kph, 40kg ballast, 40knots, 12m Shockwave using a 5-wheel configuration.
  15. This photo makes me want to move to Dubai.
