  1. So take it out in under 10mph wind when you need 8mph to get it flying properly... hmm better take a wind-o-meter with you next time
  2. Have you been giving enough slack in the lines? I have 18ish meter lines on my stranger and find that even in a mild wind I have to run foward a couple of steps? Hope this helps, just try to be more extreme with your movements.
  3. If you want a bit of pull your getting a sports kite for the wrong reasons mate and to that effect *most* tricks kites won't pull as it's not practical. Like mentioned psycho is a good high wind kite but it's quite manic and wouldnt suggest it to a begginer, and by the sounds of it you'll only want to loop-the-loop. So im a bit stuck as to what to suggest really...a couple of the bigger elliot deltas give some pull but nothing as you would expect from a foil etc.
  4. I can't tell if this post is taking the **** or not
  5. What stops a guy (or gal) from taking both pills....double the fun. I trick kite regularly and power, and these days im getting into kite surfing. I remeber my first *real* kite was the xtro, was great but limited fun. Get a stranger, soild kite...as you progress i'd say take a look at benson kites, they are top notch...although I do love my psycho
  6. Tethered flying is as bad as it sounds, he probally was flying controlled untill he attached himself to the tree where the gust must have made the kite luff.
  7. South

    got my first kite

Saying that, you can't really say any kite is too big or too small without knowing the exact circumstances...however I do tend to agree 18m seems far OTT for someone just starting out. A 14/15 would seem more suitable (unless your a fatass), people are forgetting it is coming up to summer and so far lighter winds...either way keep safe
  8. Excuse me? There is a much better school/shop (IMHO ) in llunduno junction called turbulance (http://www.ukkiting.com) ....I'd try there first if I were you Its on the high street, fairly close to the train station
  9. I don't mind flying a bigger kite in high winds so long as I have time to warm up, to get used to the power. As you said, you cann't really fly as you would normally, just moonwalk everywhere because the kite is picking you up without effort
  10. Generally I don't like these threads as they prove the flexi forums to contain alot of bull ****e....however I have a skywatch 6.4 in 24 with gusts to 30. This wasn't intentional...wind kept picking up and hadn't noticed
  11. Get back to your own forum.....the monkies who can't fly with precision so use a big kite and call it "power kiting" and relie on brute force to impress people forum
  12. Aye this can be a real bitch to do....as mentioned before 45 deg to the wind and a good snap of one line can work, a bit like flipping a 2 line power kite. With a gemi it does it without easy due to the shape and design of the kite
  13. you really are just aswell saving up for a flexi....I know it's painful, but i've just about got enough now to afford a new blade 4.9. I also went through a period of disliking flexifoil but I have realised that they are expensive for a reason...you get what you pay for and with a firebee you don't pay for alot!
  14. You should get your facts right before you start to critise someone, or in your case don't jump to assumptions. FYI I do in fact ride and I do see its a logical step for them to stock atbs, however some staff training on the matter wouldn't go amiss!
