I believe that the popping noise is what actually gave name to the kite.
Apparently, the designers could not establish the cause for this noise and so the clever marketing chaps came up with the name Bullet to highlight the fact that it makes a noise like a gun.
Basically, it depends on the windspeed you fly it in:
0-5 mph - Spud Gun
5-10 mph - Air Rifle
10-20 mph - Colt 35
20-30 mph - Magnum
30-40 mph - Sawn off Shotgun
40mph+ - Genade Launcher
Whilst I'm on topic, that's how the blade got its name too. The Swooshing noice resembles knives of various size being swung thourgh the air:
0-5 mph - Razor blade
etc
I'm postive I saw on on the internet from a kite shop at this amount. I specifically remember it was £30 as I too though that was very cheap.
Can't remember where but I'll check my web-history to see if I can find out ......
Got me a Pulsar this weekend (c/o Paul @ Kosmic Kites). Managed to play with it for a bit in Richmond Park although the wind was a little low.
Looking forward to learning all the tricks - it's such a different buzz to the Blade and yet just as involving and good fun (only you don't have the risk of breaking any necks, ankles, legs etc).
Just got to get my dead launch sorted out - I spent most of the time running back and forward to sent the kite on its back so I could re-launch!
It comes with 25m lines which I reckon could do with slightly longer ones once I've got the hang of it.

Just discovered http://www.win.tue.nl/~pp/kites/ which has lots of resources on the various tricks etc. Pity it doesn't have illustrations.
If any one else knows of good sites for those learning tricks them please do post.
Thanks.

...I am getting one of these this weekend (hopefully) based on some excellent reviews I have read. Its a big kite for £60 so I look forward to putting it up in Richmond Park to test it shortly..

............ beacuse I have a 4m Blade 2 and I want something different - i.e. a sport kite and not a traction kite for when the wind is really heavy or if I just fancy a change.
.............for all the advice / info - esp SKG.
After considering the above and doing some on-line research I have decided to go for the new Pulsar model. The price is right, it has all the kit and I've read some excellent reveiws.
I'll let you know how I get on.

Before I got my Blade the only kites I used to fly were these cheap plastic jobs - which were fun enough at the time. Having now experienced power kiting and experienced the disapointment when it is clearly just too windy to put the Blade up, I want to purchase a 'sports' kite (or what ever you all it) to play with when it is too windy for the Blade and for safe jumping.
Requirments are:
1. Very quicky and manoeverable.
2. Hopefully stong enough to withstand the odd crashlanding
3. Can fly in 10-30mph (+?) winds
4. A good feel (ie a little bit of pull so you don't fall asleep!)
5. Hopefully around £100.
Obviously I am going to get off my butt and do some research of my own but would be interested to hear comments from you guys.
Thanks.

Thanks for info guys - bugger!
Fortunately the holiday was not booked around the kite and I just figured if I took it along I might get a chance to use it. Will take it anyway and check out West Bay, Seatown and the coastal paths. At least it gives me a great excuse to get of my but, get some fresh air and take the family, ahem, exploring.
I'm off to Bridport for 7 days at the end of May. On the map it looks like a big sandy beach running from West Bay through to Lyme Regis. Is it OK to kite here and is it any good.
Or can some one recommend another place near here that would be suitable for me to go some kite jumping with my blade? C.
Thanks.
