Hey Paul Well its been a while since I made any appearance on extreme-kites Ive been setting up a rehabilitation studio with physical training and massage therapy. When I saw you article I thought that I may be able to offer not necessarily help but definately advice. Everyone who has replied to you has been correct, so far. The simple answer is that no one injury can be or should be treated the same. The fact that you have MRI evidance that you have osteoarthritis does not mean that you have to completely stop the sport nor does it mean that you should suffer everytime you do it! Instead find yourself a therapist who can offer you functional exercises to correct your body not just your shoulder. By correcting your body ie posture, stability, stability strength, flexibility etc you will be able to better support your shoulder. Then... the osteoarthritis, although still there, will be much less painful! Oh and the rest of you will work better too!! If you'd like to pm me I could help you find a therapist close to you that would be able to help you do this. And by the way 54 is just a number (granted a big number  ) but I have clients in their 70's skiing all over the world with conditions much more restricting than osteoarthritis! So thats no excuse not to go hard!!!! Justin

Hi Alex I have placed orange egg shocks (the hardest ones) in my board for added stability and have then tightened the springs to a tightness that I can comfortably turn the board without too much trouble. My previous board was a Flex Deck therefore a skate truck and so was a very different truck and took some getting used to however it was very VERY worth it! I too am only a light weight of just under 70KG. but that just means we can jump higher!!!! Hope that helps

Gday qfmike737 without a doubt, dolls point is the closest to the airport (if the wind is right and you beat the water police, you could fly into the runway!) Its a great spot for flat water kite surfing, summer proves to be the best and worst. The wind (and temperature) is at its best there then, the only down side to it is quite a few kite surfers know about it and it can get pretty busy. Depending how good you are though, its a pretty long strip and if you head just north (i think its a nth sth strip) towards brighton there are fewer kites to tangle with but the advantage of dolls is it has a beach to lauch off, whereas the rest of the strip doesnt. If this location doesn't suit you, contact Kitepower Sydney they'll be able to help you out.

I think I cant pretty much speak for the bilk of the Sydney riders, by saying hell yeah!!!! We've been hanging out for something to boost our skills along. A meet like this would be sooo much better than downloading vids off the net and trying to learn from them. I am really looking forward to seeing where this progresses to, I believe the potential here is awesome! -
Hehe Yeah I tried it a few times before I was able to get the funds for my mountain board. Its pretty cool but be careful. Its not like ATBing where if you screw up you jump off do a couple of silly steps and recover, you can't I repeat CAN NOT get a good foot hold on the ground after a gust hits you, you run over a pothole or any little mistake! I am a competent street blader and consider myself to be able to get out of pretty hairy situations but the last time I went out with blades I ended up over grass, jumping over one side of a carpark's railing hop skip and another jump over the other sides railing and landed flat on my face, back on grass with pants round my ankles! Was truly funny for my friends and anyone else watching but yeah be careful on them, WEAR PADS!!!! oh and have fun ps: you can go over grass if you no longer care about your bearings the kite pulls you across without any probs at all!!!!

what size are ya after mate? Ive got one that I no longer use, its a bit big for me and I prefer the seat harness. Its a stonker "L" Jsea

Tough decision isn't it? Well unless they have another Kite Power Sydney has just sold the 03 7.3 to a mate of mine. But as far as I am aware they still have the 9 and the 12m available. We tried out the 03 and the 04 to see if there was much of a difference between the two, unfortunately we could only try a 9m in 04 and 7 in 03, in a REAL weak wind. What we found was that, in my opinion, the 04 9m turned just as fast as the 03 7m which would indicate a pretty big diff between the 03 and 04 in the same size. Couldn't really test lift diff due to wind conditions so can't really comment there, sorry. As for the spinning bar you can do that with the 03 too its a pretty sweet set up with awesome safety specs. The only prob that we found was the kill strap that attaches to your wrist (or to the harness as we have set it up) gets tangled in the lines when you spin. There's probably a simple solution to this but we wanted to fly not spin the bar  so we'll work that one out later. Decided on getting the 03 simply due to the damn good price. It just seemed too good a buy to let it go, for yes a bit of a difference, but close to $1000 diff?? ($800 i think was the exact diff) it's up to you. I would go for the 03 but again it's up to you. I currently weigh just under 70KG and have over 12months experience with landboarding (and still lovin it ) I would be quite comfortable with the 9m possibly the 12 (but that's my next dilema). So I think for you to be a decresing 85kg, with the massive depower that this kite has to offer the 9m would suit you fine. We had a top fly on sunday winds between 15-20kts and damn that frenzy flies! My advice if you can, try it before you buy it, be sure you get what you enjoy.

Hi Moritz Check out Kite Power, they are selling 2003 frenzy's for a really good price. http://www.kitepower.com.au good luck

Yes I am the happy, proud and excited new owner of the stonker harness. Not only is the harness in immaculate condition but Azza did EVERYTHING i asked him to to make sure I was going to be happy with the purchase. (plus it came a day early! what service) I would highly recommend buying his other harness if you are even just thinking about buying one. Thankyou so much Azza You have made me one very happy flyer.

Ok so I went in to Kite Power and inquired about my lil' dilema and a simple and cheap solution was to shorten my lines. I can't believe I didn' t think of that. Then they tempted me with the frenzy's anyway, bastards now I REALLY want one! Oh well gotta save up first. Thanks heaps for all your info I found it really did help I just found a cheaper solution.

Mmmm thanks schultzie, I'm going to try and test a few before I commit to buying one. Thanks heaps for all your help though you sure have increased my options, which is good I'll let you know which way I go when I have decided. Happy flying

Hey hey Not once did I say I "owned" the LD  Thanks schultzie yeah unfortunately I can't get to Melb too easily, I am going to have a chat to Steve and see what he's got but i'll also look into Kiteworks. Yeah mattyw's LD (happy matt) is on handles great kite but i'm looking for a kite with good, very good pulling power for around 20knts and above for jumping, as soon as the wind touches 20-25knts my blade 4.9 overpowers me, which is fine but due to the small areas we have to play with in Sydney i don't feel comfortable, you go for a jump and by the time you land, your kite is in the rotar of a bank of trees. The LD is great from 25knts and up but the winds here are quite often sitting in that bracket where i am just too overpowered or just underpowered (for jumps). Thanks for your help though, i'll just have to put some weight on and keep that 4.9 down Happy Flying

Can anyone give me some advice on which way to go, I am looking to fill the gap between a LD3m and 4.9 blade III for ATB. I have been sussing out the frenzy's but due to the sizes available im not sure that it would fill that gap unless the depower system (which I have never used before so I don't understand the full potential of) can cover my needs. I just want to fill the gap and not replace a kite although if i had to i would replace the LD (i also have a 2m blade II) schultzie you recommended the G-arc and the f-arc in another topic whats the comparison between that and the frenzy do you or anyone know? Help there's too much to chose from!! Happy Flying

grrr too many options also looking at the frenzy but thats a lot of money thanx for the ideas though
