  1. thats so simple for what it does!! how fast could you get on ashphalt? Also to cut back the stress what happens if you add another support on the other side of the driving wheel (im assuming this is the outrunner motor?), it would probably put less stress on the motor and cut back the power usage therefore saving some battery?....dont really know though, just a suggestion! im going out now to have a look at a motorised hub i have, wondering whether i might be able to rig this up somehow....... thanks for the inspiration!
  2. could you add a photo of the electric motor setup?? keen to see how it works! seriously epic trip by the way!!! my respect is flowing....
  3. he is probably trying to show people that dont realise the potential of new sports that if you try something, give it a go, and do your best at it, you can do some really spectacular stuff, you can break boundries. he is also having one hang of a lot of fun with a simple foil board, which as far as i am concerned look like a brilliant challenge for someone like you to try...its a bit like 29 inch tyres on a mountain bike, you hate them until you ride them, then once you ride them you still talk about them like you hate them, but you realise that they are a really good idea.........and then you go and buy yourself a set. also do they really look that complicated compared to a twin tip with the specially shaped board contours? it just another aspect of an awesome sport that is continually growing my 2cents...
  4. i think john was meaning these tigers....
  5. probably when he's kite surfing at undisclosed locations in the congo.....!!
  6. thats some serious stuff......do i believe this??any second opinions:)!! as for the photo, you need to soften the edges of the buggy shadow and make them smaller!!
  7. ok thanks for that...wind is pretty solid here at the moment, so its not hard to find somewhere with a steady 15-20 knots..!
  8. sorry correct that, just weighed myself... make it 76kg......so yeh the bit about putting on kg's was accurate....
  9. about 69kg....but im only sixteen, so im likely to put on kg's....:)
  10. Sweet!! - thanks for that... went out today with the twister in 20knts and it was totally impractical to even try and get on the board it was so overpowered, im still learning so im not very confident!!! heaps of fun though before it picked up, looking forward to a depower!!
  11. ok thanks for the advice guys!! - PMing you now @Tiger37
  12. yeh ok, is the ozone access depower? what about a LEI depower - do they work for landboarding? i can see that depower is worth it, i wont have anybody to teach me though, can you learn over video tutorials or is it more complicated than that?? thanks!

    Soloshot 2

scroll down the page on the soloshot website and it lists the prices, it looks like it works out what country ur in and does the currencey to suit, but it might pay to check..... they seem an allright price for the technology they contain...
  14. whats the cause of it, i kayak quite a bit, and even way upstream 20-30 km on some rivers, theres still full reception - Dunedin has ultrafast broadband installed but does Brisbane not? random to be close to a biggish centre - - and not get reception...(Dunedin would be a small place compared to brisbane....)

  16. I'm thinking of buying my next land-boarding kite, but i don't know what type of kite to get, as I'm newish to the land-boarding scene... am thinking of more of a lighter wind kite than my PL Twister 4.0 i would like a depower but a). i don't have the money to afford a decent one unless its heavily reduced and b). i also don't have anyone to teach me how to use them... but would appreciate any advice i can get on it, what kite should be my next step? - I've been looking at jhn.holgate 's Ozone Riot 9m, but is this worth it for land-boarding or not? thanks!
  17. yeh ok, i checked out the shape of the reactor II and compared it with the twister, they do look a bit similar so you are probably right there... yep this is a 4.0m Twister so its probably not ideal... just out of interest, what does a wider bar do? i set up a widish cutom bar for my younger brothers PL Vibe to get him used to a bar over just straps and it goes a lot better, easier to control, more stable etc...this is just a really small power kite, but does it do the same for bigger kites?? thanks!
  18. sweet....they look like a bit of fun.. what is their main use?, cruising, freestyle/tricks???
  19. would it work with a PL Twister?
  20. was going to say the same thing..... is it a custom built thing or a production one?? - wouldnt mind trying one out one day!!
  21. yeah i will need to put in something, dont know whether to do griptape or some sort of closed cell foam.... yeh it showed up reall well, the palm tree and waves are wood inlays, took a long time!!
  22. i used a Thin Air press kit all the way from the dealer in aussie..... its well easier to shape your board using this technique and easy to make moulds etc...check out the link if you want to make your own board: http://www.roarockit.com/ - a longboard kit, but im using it for a mountain board...the photo is of the board in the press MBS rockstar2 hubs with 8 inch wheels..
  23. yep i made sure of that!! i only tried it out for about five minutes last night as the tide was coming in (as soon as i packed up it was out:)), but thats my first time in about 2 years since i went on a school trip with a guy from peter lynn where we got to try out heaps of kites, plus buggys and boards!!!so yeh im still really getting the hang of it, but apart from that its heaps of fun downhilling with it etc, rides really well there!!
