Leave the 3mtr Blade alone its a killer, and not somthing to be learing on, bigger kites in the right wind are easier to control because they move and manover slower than a smaller quicker kite, giving you time to think and react.
Kites can be very very harmful to your health, the temptation seems to be not to bother with a smaller safer low aspect low lift kite, because you will 'grow out of it' and get 'bored' quickly, my advise do not take the risk. If your going to fly fixed bridles' there is no kite for all seasons, you have to be prepared to lay out some cash for at least 2-3 kites.
The safe 3-3.5 mtr kite you learnt on will later become your high wind kite, Hq Beamers, Flexifoil Rages are both good, be safe.
