  1. That one works because your answer will always be a multiple of nine and all the multiples of nine have the same symbol. This works with any 2 digit number, add the digits subtract from original number and you have a multiple of nine. Simple! p.s. Does that make me sound like a maths nerd? BTW the clock thing was rubbish it got it wrong twice...
  2. Holy crap thats thin!
  3. My guess: far to many!
  4. Seen this at least 10 times and it's still incredible... The guy has talent!
  5. Seal and Glide is awesome stuff. Not tried it on kites but it does make spinnakers on boats super slippery and waterproof! Link :Holmenkol Seal n Glide (HMK25200) at Pinnell and Bax
  6. If your on facebook then IKITESURF have a thing on there where you can list your gear, record your session and share it with friends. Don't know if ot works on phones since I don't have an Iphone or android. If it was an app and I had a phone to supportr it I would definitely use it, good thought!
  7. Handles. You will have much more control
  8. Fixed bridle kites use 4 line handles (or bar) and you can't alter the amount of power whilst flying. Depower kites use a bar and you can de power whilst flying, this enables them to be used over a wider wind range than fixed bridles because you can change the amount of power accordingly. Depowers produce less power than the same sized fixed bridle, this is why people can fly bigger kites, also the power generated by bigger kites is useful for traction (for example it is easier to move on a board with a 10 metre than it is a with a 2m). Bigger kites tend to sit at the side of window once you are moving and pull without requiring constant input for the rider. With regard to larger kites, you will be able to handle the power, they move slower around the wind window and you won't be flying them across the middle of the power! (unless it all goes tits up!). I'm sure someone can do better at explaining if you have any more questions. Welcome to the world of traction kiting! It's full of expense, frustration and dissapointment (when things break or the wind does not blow) but 1 good session makes up for it all. Have fun!
  9. Dont sunbathe - you end up with a silly tan line! But seriously, exercises as soon as you get your cast off are the best way. Also, don't go out to soon, you don't want to break it again!

    New Video

    Wicked!
  11. Aww that's really sweet. Awesome kiting as well! It's not very often I watch ever second of a kiting video!
  12. Ha! That made me chuckle...!!!
  13. Quick question, how good are they in easterly winds or is there somewhere better to go? This might sound fussy but it's my only holiday this year and I don't want it ruined because of s*** winds.
  14. They are depower because they are safer and allow you to use them in a wider range of conditions (btw that's the amazing advantage...) LEI's are not to difficult to launch pretty much every kitesufer I've ever seen has managed fine. Do some research on launching there is plenty of advice out there. BTW there is an LEI that is not a depower but I wouldn't reccomend for what you want - http://www.powerkiteshop.com/f-one-source.htm
  15. Going to Pembrokeshire for a few days next weekend, was wondering what the two beaches are like for landboarding and how busy they are this time of year. Don't want to get there and then find out!
  16. I think some wind right now would be a good idea..... Before we all lose it! P.S. That little guy is awesome!
  17. impressive stuff... I like it!
  18. It's certainly improving and the upwind is working now - apart from the moment where I forgot I'd come upwind and ended up on my face! Oh well, we all have to learn sometimes!
  19. The 'hill' was no bigger than a ramp at a skate park and getting up it was no probs (I was only going 4ft up a gentle slope) bit like skateboarding really! I get the apparent wind bit now, being a sailor I probably should have realised that sooner :S(Oh well we all learn) Coming back the other way the kite did park slightly further back in the window but since I could only travel 100 yards before I had to stop it took a while to realise it! Anyway I'm happy 'cos I just cracked upwind riding!!!!!!
  20. Ahhhh! Cheers
  21. Ahhh so I actually need a mile long beach! Right, bit difficult round my way but I'm on my hol's soon so I'll give it a try then! Playing with the brake lines sounds like good plan and a reason to not spen hours revising! Thanks for the help
  22. So do I need a biger kite to sit it at the side of the wind window and go? As in without having to work the kite to much while moving.
  23. Awesome. I am so jealous right now... P.S. Quick question, where were you in the first video?
  24. This might sound silly but: How big does a kite have to be before it will sit a side of the window and oull you along? OR, does it depend on how fast you're going/ how much wind there is? I ask because yesterday I was boarding and struggling going one way ( I was ajusting my position and watching for wind shifts!) but as I turned the other way and powered up the kite, it was sat nicely at about 2 o'clock. Was this because I was going faster coming back? BTW, I was going along then up a small hill and turning round and using gravity to get me going (sort of like skateboarding I guess!)
