  1. thanks - checking it out. I think Ryanair now have a 20kg limit. All my gear weighs 18kg (including the bags for the two kites) so hoping for a ~5kg bag. General Terms + Conditions of Carriage One requirement I forgot is that I'll be cycling to the kiting beach about 2 miles away so either towable or good straps to carry.
  2. Off for a trip in September, looking to get a bag to take my gear as sports equipment on Ryanair. Any suggestions on a single bag to hold a 135x43 board, couple of kites, harness, bar, pump, wetsuit, boots... Never flown with my gear before so if you have any tips or if you got caught out by Ryanair let me know.
  3. talking to people is so 1999. on my way now
  4. great, I'm aiming for 2ish as well. no need for mobile numbers, I'm working on an app for that KiteSpotr
  5. anyone there now? What time will you be there until? How's the wind? (if only there was some sort of app that could tell me who's there....)
  6. site and apps are not finished yet, but I'll post them here once they're testable. it would be awesome to see what you lot think. although the sites already mentioned on this thread sound pretty cool too!
  7. ah, hadn't seen that one, looks interesting. wonder if we're doing the same thing? Thanks for the info.
  8. I'd never mess with kitecrowd! It won't be a forum at all - there's no substitue for kitecrowd! it's more about sharing info you have on certain spots and meetups. So you can see what's going in advance. You got the idea
  9. thanks coupey! I know how hard you guys are to impress @auto-photos - I'm an android guy myself so yes there will be.
  10. so I decided to take the plunge and set up www.kitespotr.com - what do you think?
  11. it works for hearsall! but you got to be here to check it and I just want notifications on my phone. so say you check in to hearsall common, I'll get a message on my phone because I follow you + follow hearsall. I'd be up there a lot more in that case!
  12. I've been in to kitesurfing for about 3 years but only really started to go out (and bought gear) this year. Anyway, I love it. But I don't know anyone else who kites and I don't know many spots. On top of that I don't know when other kiters will be out. So, being in the interwebs trade, I thought I'd see if I can create something for myself that might be useful to everyone else that will make it easier to see who's out and about and where to go. It's pretty early on but I thought I'd see what you folks think: www.kitespotr.com Or does anyone know of apps that do this already? Maybe I'm just missing something being such a noob!
  13. ah right, sorry I was thinking that because it was on the east cost that a westerly would be bad, but I can seen that the coast round there is facing north west. just checked the weather and it's saying 20mph with 28mph gusts. I only have a 12m which might be too big for those conditions. Thundery showers at 1pm! I'll keep an eye on the weather, would be cool to get over there though.
  14. well I was all set, but now I don't know where to go! Certainly want to hit the coast - Dave, I got hold of a board yfrog Photo : http://yfrog.com/klqm4zgj Shared by ed_lea and have been up the park in Harbury, much to the amusement of the public (I need help) Sat Hunstanton: 9-12 mph sw Borth: 6-10mph w they don't look good, unless I can go landboarding at hunny... Mick? Sun Hunstanton: 17-20 mph sw Borth: 14-17mph sw Mick, I thought you said not to go to hunny for kitesurfing if the wind has west in it? So looks like a (long) trip to Borth/Aberdovey on Sunday... dave, I need to hit the water rather than the ground on sunday, but I'll be there if anything changes.
  15. Hi - I'm thinking of making a trip over tomorrow and I wondered if anyone will be out? Thinking of this spot Coastriders Aberdovey Kitesurf lessons meeting point - Google Maps
