  1. Just seen Andy P (who bought it), and he is very happy...glad to help you both.
  2. Do you have any photos? I know someone who might be interested...
  3. Found the answer: Tips and Rules for Kite Flying in the UK So does anyone have any good sites to buy the leds from?
  4. More the flying light, just noticed a number of US reports about UFOs and people flying kites.
  5. Indeed, speedy recovery.
  6. Apologies for bringing an old discussion back up, but are these lights legal? Just I have seen some great photos of light trails from kites in Asia and was wondering about having a go.
  7. Thanks Mark and Bash... I'll pass that on. I know what you mean, last year wasn't the best and I'm sure I have some ground to recover instead of just picking up where I left off. So, current thinking/advice seems to be, a 3m+ FB to get used to the kite and then look at depowered once moving confidently on the board and handling the kite without looking. And lessons can be worth their weight in gold (which I completely agree)
  8. Plummet, always good to hear though
  9. Thanks Mick, sorry for the mislead on the first post. Azbree, thanks, I'll let him know. I'm interested that a short time on FB and then onto depowered seems to be the suggestion. I can certainly see you would probably move to depowered at some point, but a lot of shops and dealers seem to suggest FB on handles would last you for quite some time, and the switch may not happen at all. So they have recommended something like a rage 3.5 as an starting kite that would cover a good wind range to learn and develop kite and board skills with, but, and I thin this links to my suggestion, would you say a smaller kite and a Rage 3.5m (or 4.7m) or Flow 4m would be a better learning quiver? i.e. have a kite to play with and learn the basics, and then one to start to get you moving? Point taken about borrowing/stealling/begging someone elses kites to start with.
  10. Sorry, I may have missed this, but it isn't for me. More for someone how is wanting to learn from scratch with a few hours on a 4-line only and they want to progress to landboarding in the future, i.e. about to buy their own kite and possible board ready and doesn't want to end up buying up the shop as they bought the wrong starter setup. Would you recommend someone to go straight to de-powered? Of the wind down here isn't that good (point taken, average for a windy day :-) ), and yes, I will probably be looking for a de-powered kite for me, but handles for now, while I practice and learn.
  11. Hi, I have been asked a number of times about what is the minimum kites to have to start progressing to landboarding. My normal reply is a high wind kite and something for the average days, like a 3m and a 5m kite, or 2m and 4m. But what would you suggest?
  12. If you get the right stop in the St Ives campsite, it can be great. Been a few years now and always had a great time. The beach is wonderful and you can go for miles.
  13. You have a PM
  14. Any photos?
  15. just more light and some more wind, and we should be good. Has anyone sneaked a lunchtime session induring work yet? Too wet and too many restrictions around where I work.
