  1. That'll be cool. Likely to be the only one's there and I'll need a witness for my pb runs. Lol. What size bearings do you need? I also have a spare std Flexi if you want to be reckless.
  2. Sunday. By midday. Currently forecast 29mph, gusting 43mph. NW, which means it's the length of the field (about 1/2 mile). There'll be a couple of dead spots but when the boost hits......................... Last time I was there the goalposts were down giving loads of space. Landboarders won't be there cos they're pussies. Cold though. Very cold. :/ Time to fire up the 4m Access, I think. Man, I hope the forecast holds up.
  3. Anyone hoping for a pb over the next few days?? Want to get out Sunday if the forecast holds. Stopsley beckons.
  4. Mick's Christmas Tale, warming the cockles of our hearts. Happy Christmas Everyone!
  5. ^^lol. Hence 60+mph wasn't at Stopsley. Speak to you soon Mick, we need to get out.
  6. Ssayre You shouldn't have too much problem getting past 27 imo, however, you will find that you reach a point where the opportunities to go faster diminish. Whether it will be the kite you fly or the location you fly in, it will have its limits. Then your personal situation may change which will also limit you. For me, now over 50, I find it unlikely that I'll beat my grass speed. Partly because I'm now in a job that means I'm not as physically fit as I used to be; the wind speed that day was perfect for the location and the kites I fly inland (Accesses) have their own limits in terms of performance. But it won't stop me from trying (or hoping)
  7. Mick I didn't realise this was gonna turn into a pissing contest but as you know I fly at Stopsley. Which is big. 52 acres apparently when the diddys aren't on it. Hopefully there will be some decent wind at Mable this winter. I've now got a job where I can kite on any suitable day rather than just Saturday or Sunday. Bring it on.
  8. ^^^Popeye does: Grass Buggying, Fastest – popeyethewelder.com .....if you can put up with Jay's mug every time you look at the page :/
  9. Perhaps we've all reached our limits?? No ,you're right. I've not been out much and the wind has been poor, to say the least :/
  10. That's about right Would suggest you take it easy building up your speed as the standard Flexi is very light and sensitive the higher you go. 40+ is a good achievement on a standard one. A wide axle and midis and a decent seat will push that further towards 50. After that probably best to upgrade. Watch for welding cracks where the side rails bolt to the down-tube; a common failure point. Be safe.

  12. As it's to do with Accesses I need to comment. As an inland flyer expect to buy them all. 12m included. If you've started with the 10 your next buy will be the 6. Probably followed by the 8 as that will cover most inland wind speeds that make enjoyable flying. Then treat yourself to a 4 but only expect to fly it when the 6 scares you as there is a big difference in performance in those two sizes. The 4 takes just about as much abuse as you can throw at it in silly wind; when the 6 will hurt. Finally the 12 when the 10 becomes boring. I'm sure that was the logic I used when I bought mine. Remember, going from the 4 to 6 is a 50% increase in sail size, whereas from the 10 to 12 only 20% so you don't notice the increase in power so much, but do notice the lack of turning speed the bigger they get.
  13. Nice sweeping statement there Mick.
  14. Mable Sunday anyone? High tide is 14.35 which is pants so maybe early start, late finish? Wind may also stay ESE yet............ Mick, are you out of the water yet??
  15. Last-48 hour-bump.
  16. Its rarity was one of the reasons I never flew it. Paid a lot more for it than the starting price but as I never fly it and personal circumstances have changed I'm reluctantly selling it.
  17. Lol, no. And from what I remember there was never an 8.5 made in these colours. Not one Helen might like?

  20. Will be there tomorrow. 12-15mph so more of a cruise than a blast but can't pass on the chance of an onshore here. Low Tide is 12.55 so bang on for that at least, plus high coefficient so beach will get a good wash It'll be good to get out.
  21. That's actually a good price for the wide axle alone assuming it's straight, you can't find them anywhere. Is the listing saying.............."You've got to collect but I love paying Paypal fees, so no cash"????
  22. ^^Accident waiting to claim for, more like. Mate, the scrotes near me would pull your arms off for an opportunity like this. Crash for cash!! Buy an old banger, hit them as hard as you can and CLAIM! Post the address now!!!
  23. That's the one! Nobody likes a winner. (At least, not in this country).
  24. ^^Lol. I drive a van for a living, hence I imagine my idea of "rich" is not in the same league as some. And 'Arthur Scargill', just out of spite, for bragging he outlived MT.
  25. Yep, she helped make me rich. Top bird. Sadly, the people that remember what Thatcher did to the country don't tend to remember what previous (Labour AND Tory) governments did to us before her. The word "destroy" certainly wasn't invented by Maggie.
