  1. Got a link to the shop?
  2. Take a look at the Peter Lynn spreader bars....they have 2 types, either one will solve your problem!
  3. I heard that they are going to sew up the Sabre and turn it into an inflatable!
  4. And then I wonder WHY they allow all the riders on the PKRA to ride WITHOUT helmets. Don't you guys think it would be a good example if all competitions made it compulsory to wear helmets. Then us other mortals can see our great idols kiting WITH a helmet. I think that will send a powerful signal. Anyway, with the tricks the pro's do I think they are stupid to not wear a helmet. Just my 2c
  5. I would definitely recommend Underground boards! I'm about 85kg and I love my FLX32 (132x39) I used to have a huge 164 Fanatic board when I started out, but you really outgrow them fast. I thought it would always be handy for light wind, but for some reason I just don't like the big boards, it just feels akward. Besides, Underground boards is amazing in choppy conditions, you will love them!
  6. A work mate of mine got a webhosting business on the side. Don't know if its a problem for you being located in Finland, but at least I can vouch for the guy, you won't be ripped-off. Go check out his site: http://www.malugroup.biz/en/
  7. Has anyone used sex wax (surfboard wax)? I surf as well and have lots of this hanging around. Since it's made to stick in water I was wondering if this will be any good.
  8. Where I kite it's also chop and mush all the way. I'm about the same weight as you and I can seriously recommend the underground boards. I use the FLX 132, great flex for these conditions!
  9. Yes, You only need their international bank account number (IBAN). They should get this from their bank, and then you just pay it like a normal account.
  10. My personal experience is also that Flag beach is for intermediate->advance riders, not just because of all the rocks but also because of the "helpful" flagbeach people. When I was there a guy dropped his kite in the water(looking out to sea, on the left hand side going around the corner into the harbour). Anyway, I was sitting on the beach with these guys, they saw the guy struggling and not getting his kite up. There's a lot of real nasty rocks on that side, if you get taken there, that's it, you and your kite are going to get some serious damage. Eventually the lifeguards(from a different beach) came driving up on their quadbike to inform these guys that there's a guy in trouble. FB response was.....we aren't life guards and that guy didn't pay for rescue. Fair enough, they didn't wanted to just rush out and pick up the guy and charge him a fortune for rescue, but he was drifting/struggling a long time, heading straight for the rocks, and they knew there is this point of no return where you won't even be able to get to the guy in the boat and then he is straight onto the rocks. He eventually had his kite damaged on the rocks as he swam out. I was a bit ****** with the FB guys....and made damn sure I didn't get in trouble for the rest of the time, even though I did pay for rescue services. If you don't already know what you are doing....then don't go there.
  11. Or maybe you guys should also consider looking OUTSIDE the UK for good prices. I'm sory to have to pimp my own site, but if it is Sabres you want....we are running a special now.....in case you guys are interested. Postage can be negotiated...... http://www.hotliquid.fi
  12. Yes.....buy a new one
  13. To the Flexifoil Administrator. Thanks for the nice message in the forums page telling us to update our bookmarks in order to reflect the new domain change. NOW....it would also be very helpful if you could update YOUR links on the front Flexifoil page (community->forums) to reflect this domain change as well! Kind Regards A non-bookmarked kiter
  14. Ok, I have been in Feurte only once and in the northern part of the island, town/village is called Corralejo. This is where the famous Flagbeach is (google for flagbeach). To be honest, I found Feurte dry and boring (nature wise). I stayed in the surf hostel (cheap and good facilities) because I was by myself. But if you maybe stay in one of those holiday villages there might be some activities for the kids/family. I had a rental car for 1 day and went round the island.....like I said, sand , sand and more sand and not a lot to see/do. Personally I wouldn't recommend it for a family(not my family anyway), but for kiting definitely! If it's just the wife and she is happy just sun tanning and chilling out, then you could consider it. There is quite a bit of night life, so evenings won't be boring.
  15. Huh?...What?
  16. No, it will be an SLE
  17. nope, safety is on the front line. I did try to run towards the kite, but it just kept floating away from me. I guess it was during this running that I must have somehow worked the safety loose because I was pulling on the line while running forward/back to try and get the damn kite on the ground. Hmmm, yes, packing the board with sand would have help Thanks guys!
  18. I have a takoon bar I'm using and 1/2 way up the line there is a stopper in the line. The bar went all the way there. The kite was flapping only on this 1 line, there weren't a lot of pull, but I think enough that it would have dragged the board away if I would have tied it to it. And on the sandy beach there really were nothing to tie it down to. Mostly I was caught by surprise that this can happen, it has never happened before, it always just fell down smoothly and laid there on the sand, but then again this were the strongest wind I have been in with my G to date (I think gusting around 15-19knots).
  19. Hi All. Had a close encounter this weekend. It was very gusty conditions and at one point my G1 15m got just way overpowered. I thought I would call it a day and dragged to the beach. I was way down wind and there were nobody close by, but I wasn't worried because I have landed my G1 solo many times. Anyway, I unhooked the chicken loop and let the kite go, it nicely folded open and drifted down.....to about 1-2meters above the ground! The only way I could figure out how to land the kite was to pull on the safety line until I can get hold of the kite. Since it was very gusty the kite was flapping quite a lot in the air and I was wondering how badly my hands would be cut if I had to pull in the 27m of line ripping in my hands. Well, me desicion was cut short, my safety on my harness unhooked and my kite went flying over the dunes! Luckily it was a deserted area and my bar got hooked on the tall grass after about 100meters. But I think I broke the world sprint record hauling as after my kite:D No damage, but it did make me wonder.....has anybody else had this problem with the PL kites and is there an easy solution to it if you end up solo down the beach and can't walk back up with the kite in the air? The kite just sits/flaps 1-2 meters above the ground
  20. Yes, I have already my Venom 13 on order. I was just curious if it is the kite or me doing something wrong. Does the Venoms do the same (dies/depowers) when you pump the bar? What do you guys suggest is the best way to get a sudden burst of power from a G/venom? or is it a lost cause like gillstah said?
  21. Hi there. I have a new G1 15 which I have flown only 3 times now. This is my first foil kite (was flying takoons before). Anyway, I love my G but have noticed it flies so much different than the LEI's and I had to re-learn many things. Some of my questions is this: The G turns VERY slow, I know there's all the mods available for these kites but I would prefer to not go that way. Currently I am flying with my 50cm takoon bar but was wondering if a longer bar will help (I have a 80cm bar! ) Also, when flying LEI's I would always when I feel I were starting to loose power and needed an instant boost I would just pump the bar in and out and away I go. (good for getting over a wave when you misjudged it). Well, with my G I noticed that any pumping of the bar and the kite just looses all power and dies on me. Is this just normal for PL kites? or am I doing something wrong? I almost have the impression that my G just want to find a single swet spot and sit there, you shouldn't move it too much except for slow movements. My LEI's (even my 19m) is much more responsive and "aggresive" if I needed the power, how do I get a sudden burst of power from my G That said, once my G is going it just goes sooooo sweet! you can really just play with the bar to keep the power constant but when it gets gusty or very wavy.....I'm screwed! Ta!
  22. For those whol plays Enemy Territory, have you tried the new maps/skins called TCE (True Combat Elite)? It's unbelievable. You can actually shoot through a wooden crate and kill someone behind it which is much more realistic and makes the game more difficult. I find it actually better than normal Enemy Territory and best of all......it's FREE, both game AND online playing
  23. Thanks guys! Will do a search.....should have thought about it first.
  24. Hi all. I just bought a new Peter Lynn Guerilla without a bar/lines, so this made me wonder what sort of problems you will run into if I try to use my current bars (Takoon) with the Guerilla? This is my first time with a foil, so I know nothing about them, but I remember that with my Takoon kites I just had to play around with the back lines to tune the kite a bit....this presents another problem....where can I find good info on "tuning" the lines (assuming only backlines...or?) I remember a long time ago a friend who flies Naish kites tried to us one of my Takoon bars on them and it didn't work....can't remember why anymore. Or is it simply a matter of the safety system/leash being a problem and if that fits you just tune the back lines? So how does I standard unmodified Geurilla 1 like to be flown? Thanks a lot. YT
