Sand-Yeti Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Just had an interesting day in the desert. The wind was blowing all over the place an up & down like a yo yo. Firstly, because I'm writing on this thread I somehow managed 71.8 kph (44.6 mph). This has thrashed my previous top speed of 66.6 kph. This was quite surprising as I did it in my UDB, which has a sprung axle my previous top speed was in the DB-I that has a rigid axle. Actually, I'd pumped my BF's quite hard, which was good for the speed on the sabkah but made heavy going in the dunes. I'll be filling in the form for Buggy bags. Wind speed was 16 knots and gusting quite hard from time to time. I think I did the fast run on my 6.5 Blade IV but can't be sure until I check my track data later. I switched to my 4.9 blade IV and also had some good runs with that. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a394/Sand-Yeti/GPSspeed071130.jpg There were 4 of us beating up the desert and me still experimenting with my helmet cam. I followed one of the guys in the dunes and actually caught him on vid. having an OBE. I don't think he would appreciate me sharing that with the rest of the world but I will anyway. I have a lot of editing to do now. Quote
