Lift is the main one. Manta has it, Access don't, in the main that is, yes all kites will lift you given the right/wrong conditions.... Manta go bigger size wise as well..

Got to say almost the same as you flydad, mind you since I moved now sailing most weekends, same buzz, as with the kites, just a lot closer for me to do it now, that said still get out with the kites, just not as much as in the past, and will keep it for the winter, what it's way to cold to be out on the water... always want to be doing things, and have over my time done loads, nice to be able to look back and say glad I did that, rather than wish I had done that, still got a few things to tick off the old list...... LOL. I got one as well, (4 way control) for the No wind days, and must say after spending out £££ on a good few sets of blades, only managing to chase the bloody thing all over the park, have not had it out for a while (chopper that is), + the battery's only lasts a short while, you do need no wind when you start. Have watched others fly them, and it is good when someone can do it, maybe not enough time spent on PC games in the past to get the control thing right... TOY's you got to have them... Must say though, the indoors ones (micro) are good fun, and robust so if you do crash them normally ok, not so good the the light fittings though... Shrimpo

My first time on a Windsurfer for many years, last weekend, did try it once a long time ago. Got an old rig from the bay, and gave it a go, managed to stay up on it and move a bit, even a couple of turns, but must say still spent a bit of time in the water. Will give me a toy to play with when the wind is to light to bother sailing me boats, in the summer months.. Must say, it is strange how hard it was, as done kite surfing in the past, though TBH spent a long time getting the hang of that, but as you are already in the water anyway..... oh and yes lots of time getting up, going down, up, down, now to think back.... oh well worth the time to keep at it... Must say though the old land based stuff has taken a bit of a back seat, since I got my boats.. Keep at it abba, you need a change sometimes to keep the interest.. Shrimpo

Told you Dave, it takes time.. next up is a 2 line foil, then back i nthe bug, but take care, lots of protection, keep the wrist away from any impacts, fall on a different bit if you can. Once back in the bug you will feel a bit on edge for a while, but sure it will come back to you. Keep yourself out of trouble for now, won't be to much longer. Shrimpo

Well done Chinook, that's some going, having done the 24 hour race and a couple of long days 150 mile mark, know how hard it can get on the short runs back up and down, good choice of kite. Shrimpo

So I would say you are looking at 2 to 3 months, now I’m on a Bar, the thing that’s got me is that the accident has set off arthritis in me, so now lost a lot of strength in my hands, but that don’t mean it will for you. In your type of flying area, you are going to have a lot of strain on the arms and wrist in the dunes, so you may have to stick to the flat areas for a while, any more Q’s just give us a shout. Don't remember my hands swelling up that much, but it's been a while now. May be the heat where you are, and some effect due to it, they to keep you hand up for a bit, as could be fluids. Hope you are ok, and feeling like it’s moving forward. Shrimpo

Dave, may be more than a few weeks mate, sounds like you have a plate in your wrist like mine, next time your over we can check out scars and all. Got to find somthing to do now, maybe a good time to look at all that vid you have been taking, keep you chin up get well soon, get a little delta kite to play with once you feel up to a fly, helped me fel beter, then on to a small 2 line kite.
