Hicko Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 Hi Guys, Everything is looking good for Easter adventures. So – for all you crazy kiters heading to the Easter ducks – this is what you need to know. ·Rock on down – I’ll be there from mid Friday. I’ll put something out to mark the turnoff. ·The Lord Earl of Nubeena’s footmen will be sending through directions to the property shortly (which I will then fwd on). ·Bring: mozzie replant, food, cooking gear, camping gear, warm clothes, TP, torch, tent (Kev!!), sleeping bag (Kev!!), musical instruments for round the fire, dirt surfers (Kev), med kits, training kites, toys, pois, jetskis, marshmallows, small inflatable sheep – what ever!?! ·There is a good mix of flatwater/waves spots to kite in pretty much most wind directions. ·The plan goes abit like this - once we wake up, we’ll make a call on the wx and where we’ll head out. We’ll have a whiteboard where we can leave messages for those back at the camp site or for those who randomly rock up. Very cruisey. ·If no wind, the area has good surf spots and there’s stuff to do like walking in to shippies – checking out the local area. ·Any questions – my number is 0438442562 ·Remember you need to be a member of TKSA (you can join at the camp ground). SATURDAY NIGHT SPECTACULAR Introducing Dougal – a wave kiter who lives very close to Roaring beach. He has very kindly offered his place for a Saturday night BBQ. BYO drinks and meat.J Early wx forecast is for a few showers Friday but fine for the rest and as for the wind – that’s in the hands of the gods. See you soon Quote
Hicko Posted April 12, 2009 Author Report Posted April 12, 2009 Hi guys, Thanks for a great ducks even though I had to come back early. Not a bad turnout and heaps of fun with one good wind day at Roaring Beach. The light wind back up plan was good too with a walk into Shipsterns Bluff. Hopefully the wind was on thisarvo. Thanks to the Lord Earl for letting us crash at his pad and thanks to Dougal for a very fun BBQ (loved the oysters kilpatrick!). Enjoy the pics and sorry for the lack of kiting pics - bit hard when you're on the water!! If anyone got any, wack them up. Quote
JKS Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 I remember one time yeeeeeeeears ago my mother telling me how she found me in front of the TV hiding under a blanket crying I was watching the Brady bunch (C'mon, I was a kid) ... they were camping and the tent had fallen down on all the kids ! They were all rolling around inside having a ball with the tent lookin like a deflated jumping castle. As it turns out, I was crying because I wanted to be there wwith them ... I have that feeling again Great pickies/story Hicko Happy Easter Marty Quote

Jason Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Looks like you guys are having fun down there. Question, how cold is the water at the moment?? Who ever broke their chicken loop line should check the plastic inserts in the bar. If they are worn through just replace them. Much cheaper than a new chicken loop. Quote
.Joel Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Some awsome photos there! Great to see you lot had a great time whilst we sat around with a whole of 6 knots this weekend. Tassie looks more and more attractive each year! Regards, .Joel Quote
