Hi Ahsan, I might swing past and say G'day tomorrow, best tip is to start with a trainer kite. It will give you a feel for the power of the wind.. Yewwll Cya Ando -

Hi Guilly, Ando here, I am studying at UTAS doing Engineering at the Hobart campus.. I remember bailing from classes heaps last year (Esspecially geology) because i could see the white caps on the river from the lecture theater!! haha.. Tassie is the ultimate outdoor place to study.. Mountain bike, kite, Bushwalk, Snowboard a little bit (hopefully this year we will hit up snow kiting on Mt Field) I have had mates exchange from America and Sweden and love it. I have kited nut grove a few times and don't really like it.. There are heaps of Bouys in the river so i would hate to through my kite on one and snatch a line.. plus there is a sketchy tack out into the river were all you can see downwind is about 10 km of open water towards the iron pot.. Bellerive is the best pick close to the uni.. Get wind coming down the channel between bruny island and mainland and the wind is as soft as butter!! plus no bouys over there. Oh and geology have awesome barrel partys in there rock garden!! Hopefully see you one the water.. -
Haha, yeah its stronger at cloudy bay, she will be right! just put it on the 3rd knot!!! haha Hey I yelled out to you at falls as I sloshed out of the beer tent.. You were on a mission though.. 3 days off shore was awesome!! esspecially when all the kite gear in the tent takes up more room than the work bench.. We drove out before the massive queues started.. I hold the world record for packing a tent while tripping balls Wind still blows in Hobart then? I thought the 70 knot gusts only appear when i have a 10m up!! derkka derrka!!!

Hi Lisa, That explains why Samio didn't have the usual chirp when I tried to rev him up for a kite on Saturday. Haha.. Need to go harder!! Gee we had a good day at Ulverstone, Lawrence, Lee and I caught a good 20 Knots it was Sic! I've noticed the sea breezes coming through Hobart.. Bellys would be off tap! Sammy's video turned out well, stoked with that ozone.. Unreal to fly.. Whens the next meet? keen to get back on the cans with the crew!!!

Haha, yeah no good!! If anyone would like a Switchy 2 Bar, Strut Bladders and Bridle drop me a line.. I have some photos somewhere. And yes the lovely young blonde was drinking a beer... Maybe should had payed a bit more attention to what my kite was doing!! I think the droool softened my fall lama.. haha Just a friend I was helping fly the kite, good fun those little trainers ay

Just the usual gusty stuff we are all used to, flat water was so good.. my mate is sporting a nice cut hand after attempting to get a kayak on the plane holding onto a rope connected to my saftey!! hmm, yeah long story... would had been a cracker of a photo...

Hi Baggsy, I've only just risen from my kite/tin bonanza after exams, was on the east coast.. Sorry for no reply. Seems the crew have got it sorted. cheers

Postie bike, now thats a great idea! would need to remember to make a spot on the trailer to house the mega phone, haha Hit up Orford, Scamander and Dolphin Sands River mouths over the weekend, plenty of tins were had... Looking forward to the East Coast Nuts, will be a cracker.. No mega phone this time greedy!! You guys catch some wind over the weekend?

Yeah i blew out when it peaked too.. I was there watching my mates race some Jet Skis at that regatta a few weeks back (Burn a hole in your wallet them boats, Wind per a knot = $0), Got out and had a ball. I would pull the pin on the kite if i has heading in that direction.. Swim home. haha No wheels dude, I am thinking of welding up a single wheel alloy trailer for my treadly. Does anyone know if there is such a trailer for a board and kite?? might start from scratch

The wind is crazy how it can swing around all over the place... I will keep and i the airport then Not a bad spot at the DEC, launched on your oval Lama and walked to the water, I got it on a south easterly coming straight under the Bowen bridge, Big tack too... Need booties for the walk though there is a couple of rocks. Apart from that i recon its not bad if you can back yourself to get upwind and trust ya lines. See you on the water

Yeah I had to wave the Critical Bike Ride on Friday night, wind at Bellerive was way to good. Managed a kite from the beach around the bluff all the way to tranmere and back. Ended up in the middle of the river, the upwind gods were giving me way to much love. Im keen for this Cremorne lagoon stuff. What weather station is best to check to pick cremorne?
