One more thing; well done with the quick release on the kite.

woha ..... glad you are ok dude.

After looking @ that hi res rersion .... there does seem an awful lot of spring in the back axle. Bloody thing must have bounced up 2 or 3 metres high !!!

Ouch!!! that'll hurt for a couple of days.... hope nothings too damaged

Watching and pausing in high res, looked to me like there was plenty of flex in the rear wheel rim...like 70-80 degrees! ......any cracks?

take care mate ;)

Yup all ok,

Bit of a pinched nerve, it was gusty with 12 knot variances in the wind. Was having a good session just before that happened with some great pictures (thanks Mike) my $4 plastic seat buckle saved me from cart wheeling in the buggy, there is no way I could have pulled a lap belt quick release while that was going on. Buggy ok, I'm just pissed off I was too slow on the loop as others I was making!

Thanks for your concern :)

Few days and back in the saddle! :D

Glad you are OK Luke!!!

Yeah, check the buggy and wheels thoroughly after a stack like that!

Were you trying to do a kiteloop?

If not try jumping without your hands gripping the ends of the bar, move your hands towards the centre of the bar and steer it like that, thats what we do on the water with small and fast turning kites so we don't accidentally kite loop or redirect too far when we don't want to.

PS - Nice still shot, but I think schmik needs to blow his nose! :-)

Yeah there's always one bad jump every now and then, it's how you learn.

I'm waiting for a decent day at the beach and I'll start on handle passes, then you'll get to see some good bail pics and movies :D

Luke and I spent the day carting Magazine's around the northern beaches today and he seemed fine apart from this tic at the corner of his mouth and in his elbow, kinda weird. He was drooling a lot but I put that down to him being around his dog all day.

Did I read somewhere earlier about wearing a helmet, oh yeah that was the green thing on his head......

So when we gonna go do it all again? I'm keen and in one piece

Hope that pinched nerve gets better soon mate, take care

Good advice Steve........ before that incident the jumps were just fine as I had made adjustments for the faster kite in the air I was landing down loop jumps (planned ones), this one possibly my hand to far forward on the bar plus getting hit with a gust sent the kite to quick through the top of the window & it got away from me.

Totally agree with your hand adjustments on the bar to slow the kite down. Certainly will not make the same mistake again :yes3:

New move.... the cart-wheel-buggy-off :D

Seeing as you are throwing some loops in curious....

Are you sending the kite back, bringing it back over and continuing to pull on your leading arm... or after bring it over above you are you throwing it back behind ?

Here's some video of Craig throwing some double loops on a small Blade IV 4.0m, http://www.craigsparkes.com/videos.php?pageid=doublekiteloops

It's only time before we see you throwing these on a 6m PS4 (hint hint Armin) ;)

I tried the suggestion of putting my hands on the centre of the bar when doing jumps out on the water, this made a big differnce. When I was out on the Venom II 13m^2 in 19-22 knots, had my hands on the ends of the bar, pulled right for jump and pulled in the power, up I was, but in the excitement of the moment forgot to pull left again and unintensionally looped the kite. Far out! By the way this was my first jump+kite loop. Landing was not graceful, but must have been interesting to watch.

Then I thought, maybe my kite does turn that fast and I need to put my hands on the centre of the bar when jumping. So that's what I did for the next jumps and walah, worked much better.

On another point, don't know if this applies to the extreme buggiers, but when on my landboard I insert a very thick (25-30mm) foam inbetween my butt and my harness, so when I have a buster it does not hurt so much. The foam is from Clark Rubber and is what they use for bedding. I made a ripstop nylon "pillow case" for it so it slips in nicely, otherwise you just can't stuff it down behind your harness, and makes it look neater.
