Looks like you had a great time over on the west side Carl.

We had a good day at Mable - met up with (Schern) Oliver and his mate Mark. Sharpie1 and one way Pete, Peteo with Billie, Ralph and his partner, 2 guys from Leicester and one other who I didn't get to speak to much.

Arrived at 8.30 and stayed til 4.

I have a few clips of the guys to sort into a short vid when I get chance. Enjoyed the day.....:D

Yep, was a really good day. Perfect weather to start to get the hang of the Venom and the intricacies of launching it without bow-tieing (only really managed one launch without either me or Mark having to chase it round the beach to try and unwrap it from itself though). Was good to meet you House and thanks again for letting me have a go in your buggy, was really good fun, apart from me looking like an idiot when I got out and turned it round by hand and then got back in lol. In hindsight i should have zenith'd the kite whilst i'd still got a reasonable bit of speed on and turned it like that. I was really impressed with how direct the steering was on it as well. Just the smallest adjustment and you changed direction! Makes me want one now, but transporting it may be an issue!

Hi folks, nice to see you there House - it's I with the flying tent, 1/2 from Leicester - representing!

Aye, it looked like you guys were enjoying the conditions, the day turned out well. :D

We had a fun afternoon - though should've been a bit more persistent. The wind kept up & there was plenty of terrain again before dusk, the tea ran out, mind. :)

noggin.

Ah.....Mr_Burns - glad you came on here mate - I forgot to ask you your name. I recognise the kite in your avatar !!

Sorry the beach was a bit soft for you - I think you found the best run with that diagonal past the little pond - I told Mark, the other boarder to go and have a look there.

Hope to see you over at Mable again - You might catch a glimpse of yourself in the distance on the vid - I'll stick the link on here when it's finished loading, and next time I'll be sure to catch some proper footage.

Here's the link to the vid - no sound track so recall the atmosphere but turn the sound up around 1 minute in as Sharpie 1 comes past with lines screaming:p

That might not be so easy on a bank holiday weekend Matt. Even last weekend the coastguard was telling a couple of the guys to stay up at North End because there were so many holiday makers up on the main beach.

You could go down to Sandilands or Huttoft Bank and get down as far as Chapel, but you might bump into busy beaches again after that!

We could have a go for a long haul on an evening run if the conditions were right - start at 6 and finish at 9/10, but it would mean you getting home late. Perhaps we'll keep an eye during the summer and see if the right time comes along eh?

Hi people,

My name is Glenn.

Quite new to the whole buggy thing, and want to try mine out tomorrow afternoon. I live in Lincoln, and was looking at travelling to the coast tomorrow.

Is Mablethorpe near the Seal Sanctuary OK?

Went to the field at Branston, couple of kites there, but quiet.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi Glenn

Yes - the place to go is Mablethorpe north end beach and if you park in the car park for the seal sanctuary there is a path up over the dunes onto the beach - it's just off the circular bit of raod where you turn into the car park. Mable is best with east wind or a few points off east so tomorrow could be ok. It's best to go when the tide is low as the sand at high tide is soft and takes some powering through.

In the winter we can go all the way south to Skeg, but in season, the coastguard will keep us away from the main tourist beaches up near the town. to the north you'll see a post in the ground and no buggying is permitted north of this as it is an English Heritage nature reserve. Having said all that there are usually some good hard patches of beach and we don't want to upset the powers that be and end up with a ban.

Hope you find it OK and ask away on here - we're all happy to help
