thedogsbollox Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Hello all, I live in London but spend every other weekend with my son in Earls Barton, so was looking somewhere for us to go buggying. Where is this upton, is that near Peterborough? What kind of site, and is it worth the drive out there? Is the Sixfields site not going any more? I tried to find it a couple of times without any joy. Looking to get out on Saturday if anyone is planning on going Tony Quote
domgar Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Upton park and sixfields are the same place, its not fantastic but its the best we have around here, used to be very busy at the weekends but dont see many people there nowerdays, its good for southerly-westerly winds, canf make this weekend but would like to meet up some time-its much better than flying on your own..Dom Quote

It would be good to do some land kiting from time to time instead of driving to hunstanton to find theres no wind... (last w'end) Quote

domgar Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 There was a club being formed at Sywell airfield some time ago but have heard nothing for quiet a while Quote
AdamP Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 (edited) Been a very very very long time. It's jumping jim, but I forgot my log in details. Haven't flown in such a long time, got the blade out in Newquay this summer but not touched it since then. What's happening with everything then? Wouldn't mind a fly again, is sixfields still a bust? domgar Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Hi J.J....how you doing? have not been up to 6fields for a while as its very quiet now, tend to go to Camber/Greatstone when i can also spend more time jet ski-ing,not so dependent on the weather, perhaps we should have a reunion bash up there, might even be able to get Jarv out of retirement .Dom Quote
AdamP Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Yeah that'd be good. I'm great thanks, on a gap year at the moment and heading to portsmouth for uni next year so I might buy some kitesurfing kit before I head down there. Quote

Fast205pug Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Hiya, I just wanted say hello to all the Kiting Cobblers. Ive not been flying for long and just into the land boarding thing and i must say I love it and want to keep learning more. Ive been looking at all your treads and found it very interesting and upsetting to seeing sixfields go down the pan with red tape, it sounds like a great place and sounded like you all had great times there. Gutted i missed out on a really good site and gutted for you guys too. I live in Corby myself and have been to the racecourse and found that a pretty good place to get going. Ive also been to Brancester too and had a great time flying there. I am also in the Army and based in Oxfordshire so i get about abit lol. Anyway, im hoping that I cant meet you guys soon maybe out and about. Quote
RobA Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Hi, I've lived in Northampton for about a year and I haven't found anywhere to buggy locally. I've done some brief static flying with some small kites at Upton and I've always been received well by onlookers. I doubt, however, that my buggy would go down well. Perhaps I'll see you around some time, Rob Quote
Fast205pug Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Yeah, havent been to Upton but like you said static would be ok for the locals but its that red tape thing with anything other. Yeah hope to see around Rob. Quote
Xavier Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Hey all, just thinking about maybe going out for the first time this year with my small blade III. I've been on a break for a couple of years. Where actually is this place at Upton \ Six Fields, could someone pin point it in google maps or something please? Quote
