scottyucl Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 Hello people, some time next week i will be taking delivery of my first buggy. The question i ask all you wise buggy nuts is are the kites i have ok to buggy with. I have a blade 3 4m on handles and a 3m buster on handles also. Will buggying with these be ok or do i have to shell out aload more cash for a new kite? All coments welcome Cheers Scott Quote
MadAndy71 Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 Those kites will be fine Scott. How ever many kites you have, unless you have the fullest of quivers, you will be always wanting that one thats a bit smaller and then the one thats a bit bigger. When ever it happens, I bet it wont be long before you are shelling out on a new kite Quote
Sand-Yeti Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 Your kites should work quite fine in the UK. Good luck with your buggying. Don't forget to turn your kite before you turn your buggy otherwise you will learn the meaning of OBE very quickly. Sand-Yeti Quote

Wasp59 Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 Hi, I'm a buggy noob and use mainly a 3.5 Bullet at the moment so you should be fine. I found the advice on the x-zone site really useful and very readable: http://www.x-zone.co.uk/how2.php?pagename=Buggying&PHPSESSID=c5fd130f9ac1a7c6002a3569a2c5da4b Have fun. PS: Ignore Sand Yeti's advice above and you will experience the joys of the OBE. Quote
Kiteboyza Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 Be carefull of the blade when cornering or gusty conditions, it does generate a fair bit of lift and you will be out of the buggy rather quickly. Other than that have fun and let us know how you got on..... Quote
jase.g Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 i'd invest in some I.P.E (individual protective equipment). a good set of knee and elbow pads and a good helmet. get a proper skate set. a lot of us bought the mcgill pad set from littlewoods index when they had a clearout for a bargain £3 but that was ages ago. they are top quality. i also got a skateboard helmet. nice and lightweight with good all round visibility. the helmet was from asda and cost £8.99. both were great buys for the money so its possible to shop around and get good stuff for littly pennies. check on ebay. my first O.B.E i got dragged down a concrete runway with only fingerless gloves on and ground away the end of my finger and every elbow, knee and both sides of my body. i learnt a lot about protection from that.
