There's a caravan site at South Shore run by the council. Also a lot of people on the holiday park will let their chalets. Just wander around and you'll see loads to let. Anyone up this weekend - wind looks a bit pants?

Tell it to the dogs:). I keep as far away from them as possible. I haven't had a problem buggying but the damn things seem attracted to my 4 yr old son and rush up to lick him. The owners always seem to take the stance "don't worry, he's very good with kids". Yeah, until the first time it isn't! The dog ban at the Brid end runs from 1st May doesn't it?

There seems to have been an exponential increase in the number of dogs on the beach this year. Has anyone else noticed this and has anyone had a problem? I got chased by a stupid little yappy thing a couple of weeks ago but that's been about it.

Cold.... brrrrrrrr, Who was the brave chap kitesurfing on Sun afternoon? It was p*ss*ng down and freezing.

Interesting responses. Dazza, I'm surprised about the remarks about lift - I never felt in any danger of being hoisted but I surpose enough wind will always get one up! Chris, I didn't find that adding brake helped. I did have the power rings on and tried creasing the trailing edge but it didn't seem to make much difference. Mind you, by this time I was going so fast that I was feeling in need of a nappy! I REALLY need a few tips. Redcar looks closer every day. "the buggy didn't even realise I'd left and carried on without me" LOL

Finally got the chance to buggy with the 4m at the weekend. Just to paint the picture, I'm a relative newbie buggier but have been flying power kites for about 18 months or so. This probably won't be of much interest to the more experienced but there may be those who are considering the couch potato option! The kite is very well made; up there with Flexi/Ozone in terms of quality and looks the business. Launched in about 12-15mph (feeling slightly overpowered) and I was amazed at how well behaved this kite was. It went where it was told to go and did what I expected BUT I felt there was a background "power beast" awaiting something. I can only describe it as a feeling of unleashed power sitting and growling in the background. My brother who flies but doesn't buggy (yet) agreed. Then I got into the buggy. Bl**dy hell, this kite is built for buggying. I accelerated like stink and kept accelerating way beyond my comfort zone. No feeling that I was going to be hoisted (Blade 4.9 problem), just traction beyond the 4m expectation. Fortunately, it is so well behaved that coming to a gentle halt was not beyond my abilities. Frankly, even thinking about turning at that silly speed was laughable. Basically a big up for U-Turn, great kite at a great price. If you want traction without too much lift give them a look.

That'll be the extra caffeine brew then Tobz. Frankly, couldn't agree more - we're becoming an emasculated nation of litigation happy, blame culture obsessed tw*ts. Time to stop it - but how? Get this, Harrogate Council are going to close all the paddling pools in Harrogate because some d1ckhead from the HSE told them they were a potential threat unless they instituted water recycling and filtering facilities at each pool. Cost for doing this runs into hundreds of thousands of pounds so the council plan on closing them. Kids have been using these pools for years; number of serious infections resulting - none I'm aware of. They'd be better arresting the young sods who hang around the parks at night drinking and throwing glass in the pools. Sorry - threadjack/rant over.

I tend to buggy between South Shore and Fraisthorpe. I would say it's not a good idea to have a power kite up any nearer to Brid than the Kite Shack (northernmost point of South Shore Holiday Village) especially during the Summer as there are too many families with kids.

Also very, very cold this afternoon.

Actually got as far as setting kite up then picked up handles and thought: "If I launch this, I end up in the sea". Packed up and went for a very windy walk.....

Planning a visit Sun am. The last couple of times I've been down the wind was well below what what was forecast. Packing the LD 2.1 and a Sainsbury bag though.
