Hi Guys,

Anyone free for a fly somewhere this weekend?? I know Marty and Schmick are working this weekend, but be good to have a bash around somewhere if anyone is free. Wind is looking better tommorrow than Sunday. Plenty of locations to choose from now - Rooty Hill, Riverwood, Silverwater, Walgrove Rd, Yarra Bay, Long Reef + + + So who's up for it??

Hi Rob

Not too bad at the moment out West - it is currently blowing 10 knots at Penrith from the SW, alittle gusty but should hopefully get better as the morning progress's. With no responses (till yours) I was going to head to Rooty Hill, but if you want to head out let me know where you prefer.

Were you guys able to drive onto the ground at Riverwood on Saturday? I ducked over there on Friday evening (handy being 10 minutes away) for a quick fly and have a go at this schmik little buggy I just bought, and the gate through the baseball carpark was padlocked. :( Actually I'm glad I discovered that from the outside, because I've had a good look for other exits, and there aren't any (even drove along the bike path one evening checking it out). It's worth being aware of the fact that the gate does get locked.

Incidentally, I didn't really have much wind at all on Friday evening, and at one stage when I thought I was moving along pretty well, I heard this little voice saying "what are you doing?" - It was my 2 year old son walking behind me! Oh well, I guess I need more wind or a bigger kite (or both).

I wasn't available on the weekend for a fly, but I think I am right this coming weekend - anyone heading out? Doesn't look to be much wind around the corner though.

Hi Grant,

The gate was locked on Saturday so we all parked on Kentucky Rd. Wasn't alot of wind around Saturday either although we all managed some good runs with what there was, not to mention me and Aaron managing a few turtle impressions. Definately keen for a buggy this weekend if there is wind. I have spoken to Rocket and he is looking at heading upto Stockton, so if the winds are sufficent I will head North but ifnot I am keen for another blast out at Riverwood or on the vacant block of land on Walgrove Rd while it is still vacant.

hi, guys, still think foreshore at south stockton overlooking newcastle be good spot if you going to be up there,

personally silverwater jail looks much better than riverwood, at least the crims are behind the bars there!!

Now now Rocket, we haven't had any problems out at Riverwood. Silverwater is a great spot, although you really can't go past Riverwood for space. It is atleast 3 maybe 4 times the size of Silverwater, although the mounds at Silverwater are fun and something different.

The early forcast for the weekend is looking very dismal at the moment with under 10 knots expected. Definately up for the trip north to Stockton as I said but not unless the forcast improves, can't see the point in 5hrs driving for a 5-10 knot Westerly.

Yeah mostly I wanted to get some fresh air and some salt on my skin, will need barocca this weekend anyway!

wish there were more mounds like silverwater, they look really cool!

They are cool, until the tree's ontop of them get bigger. Lets all pray for at least 10 -15kn then I will happily make the trip up no doubt as a few other guys prolly will to. Need some decent wind to test a certain bit of equipment!! ;)

I'm keen to get out to Stockton one day, but I don't have time enough up my sleeve for a while to make the trip, especially without decent wind. Riverwood ok, - Troy, where is the vacant lot on Walgrove Rd? Old Wonderland site somewhere?

I guess we'll have to see how the forecast changes over the week - weekend not looking great weatherwise at this stage

Hello,

The Walgrove Rd Spot is about half way between The Horsely Drive and the M4 on your left (if your heading towards the M4) you can't miss it, there is a new set of lights (not working yet). Would get very muddy down there after rain so a dry weekend is the go. It is huge and has a great loose surface to buggy on some smooth some alittle more on the rough side.

All Rocket needs is a good session at Riverwood and he will be a covert Aaron, how could you not be!! The Saturday wind forcast is looking better than yesterday so no doubt we wont get a decent idea till Friday.

:agree:Pray harder guys . . . . .
