lizkelly Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 Hi guys! I've just had confirmation the Dean Kite festival is going ahead in September this year. Love to see some more extreme kiting demonstrations. Thanks John for last year and hope to see you again. Liz Quote
mik333 Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 I will be there again. Great day last year! Michael Quote
jhn.holgate Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 Me too Enjoyed the day last year - looking forward to it. This was last year for those that haven't seen it: Quote
mik333 Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 I put up the ten foot parachute. It attracted kids because it was a hands on experience. While I was packing up, a little girl walked over to tell me that I had the best kite there. Buggying was a bit hit and miss with the gusty winds, but entertaining. I'm glad John put that vid together. Michael Quote
BobM Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 Please excuse my (northern) ignorance, but where is Dean; from the "Ballarat" location of last year's attendees, i'm guessing it's in Victoria. What dates in September? At this stage my diary is clear; SEABL finishes end of August and WNBL starts up again in October; the only thing to interfere might be "Fresh Meat" at Roller Derby BobM Quote
jhn.holgate Posted May 7, 2014 Report Posted May 7, 2014 Hi Bob, Dean is here: https://maps.google.com.au/maps?ll=-37.45641,143.986623&spn=0.050078,0.090895&t=m&z=14 takes about 20 minutes drive ENE of Ballarat. There's a few trees around the reserve so it's not the ideal spot for a kite festival but it certainly was a good day out last time. Quote
jhn.holgate Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 Two weeks away, folks for anyone interested in having a look. Quote
